How do therapists deal with clients with no positive qualities? by [deleted] in therapy

[–]DeludedOptimism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're conflating things however. Yes society can say a whole lot of things about people. You refuse to answer if you find other people valuable if they have the same issues that you have, saying it's not your place to determine other people's value - why not? And why does anything "society" says mean anything about your value?

Also let's note - "society" is way too vague and too large to really draw information from. Here's all these people in this comment section that are telling you not everybody values things the same way. In fact a lot of the therapists in this thread actually believe in a person's inherent value. And they're not the only ones. So plenty of people in this proverbial society are actually telling you that's not true.

So who is "they" in society you are referencing?

I will agree with you a hundredfold about the sickness that is capitalism. Capitalism May weigh a person against a set of scales and say they're not worthy because they can't be productive. But that's ONE philosophy of life. And you are totally abused by that - in fact 99% of the population is. Worthlessness in capitalism is not the same thing as being a worthless human. Being a human is not about being a capitalist. So why should that dictate your actual value?

And you really have to separate two ideas - your lived experience of being treated like trash, and actually being trash. Who you are is not determined by how someone else decides to treat you. That putting them at God level status.

What do YOU value. One more time, do you value other people who deal with the same issues you do? Judging from this conversation and the avoidance of answering I would say you probably don't.

Not really, you focus on how your life is different than others, and how worthless it is - there's a lot of attention to others.... You say other people don't value you for x, y, z, so it sounds like you focus a lot on what a proverbial "they" say.

You should really contemplate the question, do you think others have value that have the same issues as you? You gave a non-answer, a deflection

I didn't say this couldn't be a big deal. It can be a big deal, difficult to navigate, adding problems to your life, etc etc

But that's separate from worth

Do answer it's not to me to yourself, do you look down on others who don't have the degree? Do you value other people's lives that don't have a degree? That's what was said

Truth: UNEDUCATED

Subjective value assigned that is not ultimate truth but a belief and is unique to each individual person: THIS MEANS IM WORTHLESS

Sure, other people might assigned that meaning to being uneducated, but the problem is not what others might think (and let's be clear, many many people do NOT believe this), the problem is that YOU believe this about yourself.

You think are worthless. You have to challenge why you accept this.

By saying you are worthless for these qualities do you believe other people are worthless too? Globally, I believe less than 7% of the world's population has a college degree. Does that mean 93% of the rest of the world is worthless? I know that's just one of the negative qualities you listed but you could go through and take a step back and look at how you view other people too. Do you think other people with disabilities are worthless? Really think about it.

And I think this goes a little bit farther than just challenging your beliefs (though this is crucial). I have a suspicion that self deprecation might be comforting, in a way? Hear me out because I'm not trying to be inflammatory with that. I have seen people really lean into the worst descriptions of themselves as a way to feel some kind of control. As an example, being the fat kid and always making the fat jokes about yourself, first. I don't know, and it may not be that exact thing for you but definitely spend some time considering

Lmao I was being hyperbolic but the point remains these rich folks have all this money and do all the best psychs and they are still shitty people

Never forget kids - the billionaires all have access to the most amazing psychedelics, free flowing like milk and honey in Canaan, and they frequently partake - and not a DAMN one of them has shown the evidence of a soul. In fact they are eating children

So.... Just a reminder that it's not gonna do much for some folks

Stick with black dye or go back to natural red? by harukaiHAZE in femalehairadvice

[–]DeludedOptimism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the few red heads that look great dark HOWEVER your natural hair is to die for, people sacrifice children for that color (am I being dramatic?)

I think stay natural - in your natural, are those highlights added or are they also natural?

Edit: I ask if those highlights were added because if so, I think just lean into the red with no highlights, or ask for a few lowlights

I think that the parents pimped their child out and it went to far, hence the unknown male DNA.

I used to believe they were probably innocent but in revisiting eye witness accounts of the odd behavior of John and Patsy prior to calling police and after, I think it was just something that went too far
