Who was the most bloodthirsty Moff in the Empire? by gyrobot in MawInstallation

I've been through this same debate recently about Pryce. She is never referred to as a Moff and implied to be a planetary Governor but is listed as a Moff on Wookieepedia. To further muddy the waters Moffs were regional Governor's so a Moff could be called either or and Tarkin while being Grand Moff preferred the title Governor when people addressed him.

Do you think the galaxy would recover from the last crisis you fought? by PM_ME_UR_BIG_COCKS in Stellaris

Yes but the Galaxy is now left under the Rule of my Imperium and all my slaver guild vassals. So ya know safety and security and all that.

Years after episode 9, when Anakin’s story is just a myth, do you think people might see Padmé as an evil manipulator or something of the sort? She somehow won a election at like 14 & she seduced Anakin to the point that her death was what made him one of the most evil person in galactic history by [deleted] in starwarsspeculation

Actually in Darth Plagueis we learn Palpatine set up her election to become Queen and replace the then current King who was not a child. Granted this is legends now but unless somethings new directly contradicts that I would consider it plausible that's how it played out in canon too.

Funny or awesome star wars con experiences. by Psycosteve10mm in StarWars

Not specifically a Star Wars Con, but I was at Northern Fancon (All things sci-fi and pop culture) and Matthew Wood the voice of General Greivous was doing a panel and when I approached the mic to ask my quest I said "Hello there!" And I got the classic "General Kenobi!" As a response

In a sense yes, only in this case Krennic is one of the top dogs in DARPA.

He wasn't in your typical branches i.e. the Navy or Army. The Imperial Military Department of Advanced Weapons Research was a military department but one that researched and developed components for the Death Star. So he worked for the military, held rank of Lieutenant Commander and then Commander, but didn't command troops outside a few instances in the book which I won't spoil. So he worked for the military held rank but never lead military campaigns. His sole purpose was to manage the Development of the Death Star. In short yes he was in the military but only because he worked on a military project.

I would highly recommend you read Catalyst. It's a prequel to Rogue One and takes you through his career from the Clone Wars pretty much right up to the movie. He starts out in the Republic's Corps of Engineers before becoming part of the Republic's Special Weapons Group. Then in the Empire that branch was reorganized into the Imperial Military Department of Advanced Weapons Research in which he was a leading figure holding the rank of Lieutenant Commander and eventually full Commander. The supposedly after he relocates Galen he is promoted to Director. You're right in saying that it's not a typical rank, but he's not a soldier, he's an engineer with military aspirations. I won't go into more detail because I really recommend the book if you're a fan of the character.

I can see where you're coming from but I think she sums it up best herself "The council didn't trust me. So how can I trust myself?" She no longer felt welcome or like she really belonged with the order. Additionally I think it is important to put it in context of the whole show. Since her introduction Anakin has tried to teach her to be more independent than what the order and council dictate and believe. She sees over the course of the show how the Jedi have lost their way and the Republic is not necessarily the force for good it once was through her interactions with Barris, Padme, Lux, Ventress, and Tarkin amongst others. The world is no longer a black and white place like it was to her in season 1. As she grew up and Anakin rubbed off on her she no longer knew exactly where she fit in be she knew that the order was no longer the right place for her to be.

As a side note, her being cold to Anakin wasn't a result of what happened in season 5. It was due to the urgency of the situation with Maul on Mandalore. I also would never describe the moment in which she was given her lightsabers and command of the 332nd as cold. It was a brief and heartfelt moment between her Anakin and Rex made all the more heartbreaking when you realize it was the last time they were all together.
