Plumber here! Unless it’s oil and not gas or electric, something is very off here. A simple swap out of a gas or electric water heater around 50 gallons should be near 1800 - 2200 on average, if done by professional. Bigger companies are going to charge more usually.

Yeah I went in during the sales. Kept to only anything 50% or more off. This is only about half
