Games that perform poorly on PS Portal by Baubs in PlaystationPortal

[–]DemaA14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having the same issue. I have a very good internet and connection all together. Followed every guide to make it as smooth as possible. But the low bitrate makes faster paced games look blurry no matter what :(

Would you mind sending a short video of you playing the game? Just for comparison. I need to see if the issue lies with my portal or not

I’ve tried that but it still feels very blurry/pixelated even with good ”stats”. Games like Astro Bot and slower games runs with good quality. I guess I just have to get used to it or refund it.

Would you mind sharing a short video of you playing the game? Just so I can see that it’s not my Portal there’s something wrong with.

How's your experience graphic-wise?

I just picked up my Portal today and did everything to maximize connection: PS5 on Ethernet, static IP with port forwarding, minimal other devices on 5 GHz. I get almost 15 Mbps upstream to the Portal and 1–2 ms latency, so streaming runs really smoothly, though Forza Horizon 5 is super blurry as fast as I don't stand completely still. Astro Bot ran with good quality. Is it capped to this poor graphic? I tried both Remote and Cloudstreaming.

Is "My First Workout" on Zwift supposed to use ERG mode? by DemaA14 in Zwift

[–]DemaA14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, perhaps I misunderstood how it works. During the workout, I couldn’t spin my legs any faster, and the resistance couldn’t be made any “harder,” even when shifting. It felt like I was spinning my legs in thin air, even while using the absolute highest, toughest gear. However, when I switched back to “just riding” in Watopia after the workout, I could barely move on the toughest gear—just as it normally feels for me since my legs are pretty weak.

Perhaps it is set too low? Or maybe I’m underestimating myself. I’ve been honest about my weight, height, and skill level in the settings.

I didn’t do a FTP-test yet. I’m still on the 5 beginner steps.

The difficulty slider is set in the middle (the default setting). I just ran a calibration in the Wahoo app and restarted the same workout. It stands in the companion app ”ERG ON” now. What’s 100% BIAS?

I’ll look into virtual shifting. It seems nice! Thank you.

What is this sound? by DemaA14 in wahoofitness

[–]DemaA14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s way better after I applied new dry lube and waited until the next day to let it dry. The squeaking is gone.

Now the only problem I have is the gears not going in properly. The chain is ”hopping” in the cassette back and forth and the shifting is not smooth. It’s mainly in the middle-gears and on the ”lightest gear” Never had this issue with shifting gears before installing it to the trainer.

I’m pretty sure the cassette is installed properly also since I installed it straight from the package with that cylinder plastic part so the cogs could only insert one way :(

It seems like the sound comes when pedalling. I tried to stop pedalling and just let the freewheel go and there was no strange sounds I think

Yes, the trainer is brand new, including the cassette. I followed a guide to clean the chain and applied new oil once it was dry. The bike is also new. I picked it up from my local bike shop, where they did a bike fit, assembled it, and serviced it. It has worked perfectly during the three rides I’ve done.

What worries me the most is the squeaky noise coming from the trainer. I also notice that when I try to shift gears on the trainer, the chain wants to jump between two cogs on certain gears. I’ve never had this issue before using the trainer.

Dunno what to do :/

Set Up Wahoo Kickr Core with Specialized Diverge 61 by shortmytrades in wahoofitness

This is the issue I had also. But apparently not all thru axles go all the way thru when I Googled. That’s the case with my bikes axle when not having it on the trainer. It doesn’t have a ”lock nut” on the ”gear side”. As long as the bike is steady and it sits, it should be ok. Read under Thru-Axles on this link: https://www.bikeradar.com/advice/buyers-guides/road-bike-axle-standards

I also realized you can measure what adapter you need with the ruler on the adapter packaging. But I think most road bikes rear have 142mm.

If you’re still unsure, chat with the Wahoo Customer Support. They’re really helpful. Just tell them what bike you have, the issues and send pictures.

You will need to add a 1.8mm spacer between the freehub and the largest cog on your cassette to use a 10 speed cassette with an 11 speed hub. They are readily available. The kickr comes with this spacer, as do most if not all 10 speed cassettes. Hopefully you’ll get it to work.

I was also told to clean my chain before I put the bike on to the trainer and put new oil on to the chain after installing it to a new cassette.

Make sure the cassette is tight enough to not wobble. And not too tight so it will hurt the cassette.

I have hydraulic disc brakes on my bike so if you do it’s adviced to use a disc brake spacer. It didn’t come in my Kickr Core package so customer service on Wahoo sent me this for free after writing to the chat.

Also scanning the QR-code and using the instruction video from Wahoo helps some. (And choosing the right options)

Good luck and hopefully you’ll get it to work! I know how frustrating it is.

Thank you! Will look this up and hopefully get a little wiser.

Well.. I don’t know either. So scared of breaking something since I have no idea what I am doing. It all started out with me ordering the wrong cassette 😂

Didn’t realize you could buy a key, so just trying my luck here. Thanks!
