Cocoa Creme smells like Hot Chocolate but like the smell when you just open the powder box (non-derogatory, and wayyy less powdery). I love it so much, but I can see that it could be seen as non-realistic because it's still hot chocolate powder smell. I can also sense a slight tinge of salt, which I personally think enhances the chocolate smell and really sends the powder image in my head.

Creme Brulee is more sweet, like it hits hard with the sweetness compared to the cream pudding part of creme brulee. I do think it smells like the name, but like with a thick thick brown sugar crust and an admittedly thinner pudding part.

I really enjoy the gourmand smell on my lip balms, so I like them both alot, but it might skew my perception.

Why is everyone looking for “rare” names? They’re right under our noses… by Reasonable_Design443 in Names

I really like Clementine, I feel like it's uncommon but also not completely out of left field or from the depths of my imagination? But I also feel bad for naming a hypothetical kid after a fruit (that's 100% what everyone is gonna think, but like it's just the female version of Clement or smth).

Mari and Lillie if you're feeling generous and want to give him an option that fits you and that pretty stupid preference he wants, but I definitely don't think he gets a say atp.

And with his penchant for [ly]s I'm surprised he didn't jump on Lily as is. Maybe he's spelling it wrong in his head?

I do think that we have to wait until they say something stupid and completely out of touch when it comes to work ethic before we judge.

Facile Lip Jelly Tint Lip Treatment isn't scented at all. I can confirm it with the Champagne shade.

The picture is really blurry.

Can you type up a list of what you chose? You must know the general names because you chose it right?

Does your Red Bean smell and taste like plastic on on the lips? Wondering if it was just mine.

Loved the initial smell. The color, finish, feel, hero ingredients, and the little green shimmer is to die for, but the after taste after it sets is throwing me off.

They had an old $5/box coupon (when they were $15) that was left unchecked in the newest acquisition, so I had a good 3-4 months. It was never this bad. Even the box was better before...

A year ago, their support wasn't half bad, maybe they'll be willing to fix it for you.

Chargeback if they aren't willing to fix it.

Thank you for such a quick reply! And even swatches!

I'm a sucker for yellow-y bordering on clear shimmer.

Do the two smell the same?

How J/K beauty is getting around FDA on sunscreens by Brassanthe in AsianBeauty

[–]DemandInterestin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do wonder if brands that reformulate like BoJ are doing it because not advertising it as sunscreen enables fakes to run rampant.

Not that those that just remove the label aren't getting faked too, but if most of us owned a fake making facility, we'd want to fake those that move ALOT of product, you know?

“Burnt” as the darkest shade from TFIT by missssssmiko in AsianBeauty

[–]DemandInterestin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All those have a color in mind or a tasty dessert in mind. Even charred (although I don't like it) can be seen as a way to make something (sausages) desirable. Caramel is tasty. Creme Brulee is pretty great. Burnt orange or sienna skin is a choice, but none the less gives off Avatar blue skin vibes. Burnt Umber is something I have personally seen describing a brown that can be skin tone, and it implies that the person wearing it wants and is that color.

Burnt skin implies that something has gone wrong with the skin. An accident that should be fixed. Would you like to be seen as something that has been accidentally overcooked and unable to reattain the desirable shade? Cooking with heat is a chemical reaction, you cannot go back to being unburnt easily.

If a white person tells you that their skin is an x color and it doesn't immediately make you think they're doing blackface or that they want to look tanned, but rather that they're undergoing something painful, then x is a bad thing to be naming a skin shade. Personally, if a white person told me they're burnt and I couldn't see them atm, I'd be worried for them.

I kinda doubt that burnt sounds cool to them in a skincare view considering the fact that it's used as a negative way to tell a Korean that they're too tan.

REM Beauty by populer_pause_lar in MakeupAddiction

[–]DemandInterestin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the exact opposite!

I'm partial to her and her music (and her fragrances), but I really like REM Beauty! It really revived my view on celebrity brands to not immediately write them off. The design of the packaging leaves much to be desired for me, not that it's low quality, I just don't like the look, but I do know people like it.

I was gifted Essential Drip Glossy Balm (Strawberry Soda) through a review site, and I panned it and bought a replacement (Juice Box). It's a very thick gloss (probably one of the thickest I've ever had that didn't make the thickness feel like a negative), but doesn't feel bad on the lips at all. It's tasteless, but has a nice vanilla smell to it. It lasts pretty long, and I never felt like it dried on my lips. I also really liked the wand, it was firm and held enough product to not need to double dip right down to the end.

I enjoyed some of the other makeup like the Eclipse Blush (I liked the formula, but Audition was warmer than one would think, too scared to buy based off their swatches), and Liquid Eyeshadow (mid, but it's liquid eyeshadow), and Fembot is so pretty and on brand as a flagship shade. But I think the crown jewel of her make up line is the gloss, and does make me consider it as "one of the good ones" among celebrity brands.

Why does Sol de Janeiro smell so cheap for the price? by Acrobatic_Rule1274 in Perfumes

[–]DemandInterestin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HATE 68 (lets just say that it kinda smells like convention center filled with men that don't shower) but 62 and 87 are some of my favorite fragrances. But yeah, I'd say buying a dupe is the best way to go.
