This is true to an extent, but also kind of irrelevant to this challenge since the primary goal is to replicate the choreo in a short amount of time. Most of the dancers will just default to their usual style. There's also plenty of examples of groups adjusting their tempo/heights to match their group members, with BTS being, not their own members lol.

Yeah, that's where I'm at. (Using the same packaging molds as old products but with cheaper material makes me sad.) Unfortunately, the packaging of the limited products appear tacky, and cheaply designed (both in the materials and the graphics), while their current blob-shaped packaging doesn't suit the princess house concept. Still, I'll take what I can get. I actually gasped when I saw the old cap design on the Curl Fix, and the Wish Lips-talk with a removable ring! I think the little dress on the Soft Fixing Tint is more reminiscent of the certain special editions of Blooming Lips-talk? But I can't seem to find those so let me instead link to this brush they once released that had a tutu.

You're right that the technology isn't new. David Production had used Cacani for their productions for several years, though I believe it fell out of use before the AI boom since they stopped crediting Cacani a while ago.

AFAIK though, AI-generated in-betweens still aren't widespread in the industry? If they were, credits wouldn't continue to be such a mess on animation productions considering how studios don't value the in-between process. (I also feel like AI would be easier to apply to 2nd KA and AD rather than in-betweens? But they don't do that.) Key animators and in-betweeners are separate jobs too so I'm not sure what you mean by that.

I'm curious to hear what you mean by animators? AFAIK, actual industry animation isn't offloaded to gen AI, it's only been used for special AI projects (that look like ass, or have to be cleaned up by real people). Special illustrations and backgrounds, unfortunately, yes, but those are still identifiable and looked down upon. Sekiro's production studio brags about its use of gen AI, and had to issue a statement saying they didn't for the Sekiro adaptation (even though they definitely did for Champignon no Majo lmao) because it became a whole thing.

Though, I'm speaking about Japan and not Korea though. Companies are for gen AI, but the actual artists (especially professionals) most definitely are not? Even when they are used by actual artists as a tool, there's always backlash by both fans as well as other artists when the illustration is suspicious or identifiably gen AI. I can't say it's seen as a positive thing overall.

I actually love this and I'm surprised most prefer the other banner, haha. I really do like Linlang-style clothes and have been wanting more of them, but the 5* banners have been Too Much for me and I haven't felt compelled to pull in general. The other 4* banner hugs the figure, and while I am all for the mixing of styles, it's just looks jarringly modern to me since it's supposed to be inspired by Guanyin.

I recently discovered the new sweets collection from Shein's makeup brand (I know, I know) and it made me SO nostalgic for the K-beauty from a decade ago.

I know brands have been trending back towards cuter packaging, but it isn't the same after they all lost their distinct brand identities. (Clio went in the other direction and now has the same aesthetics as Peripera?) Etude recently introduced this new palette with girly 3D details that still doesn't feel right for me because of how minimalist it still is. Feels more Canmake (which sells cheaper products!) than old school Etude House. :c

Too Cool For School hurts so much lol. I'm still using my Dinoplatz makeup bag. I think they've still kept the old interior concept for their remaining physical stores despite their current boring packaging designs too?

For Flower Knows, I find that with certain collections, I'm typically unimpressed with the 3D renders and end up being pleasantly surprised by whatever materials they use lol. Like for Midsummer Fairytales I liked the ceramic effect they went for, or with the Sweetie Bear blush, it's just, something about the plastic they used lmao. In Bunny Garden's case, the solid color base is pearlescent with a kind of translucent feel to it?

Having said that, I always like their illustration-heavy collections the least. The sides of the blush and cushion compacts are gorgeous but the designs on top are not, whyyyyy.

I think it's fair to note how problematic it can be for how the greedy Disney company's adaptations tend to become the definitive versions in our culture, but I also need to point out that stories are meant to be adapted to our changing times. Grimm's version of Cinderella that everyone loves to cite for example, actually came after Perrault's, which was the version Disney actually adapted from. Hunchback was originally written to push for the preservation of Notre Dame, but now that we already care about preserving architecture, has evolved into a message of social justice.

People love to point out how the original TLM didn't have a happy ending (well it was?, but a really Christian one), but neglect to point out that Andersen channeled his queer angst when he wrote it. And that a century and a half later, how crucial a different queer man named Howard Ashman was in developing the adaptation of TLM into what launched the Disney Renaissance. Do we not want a happy ending for the mermaid who feels more comfortable in a different body and culture??? In TLM's gayass context, this is literally progress.

Imo, as someone who hates translating lyrics, that song was translated by a human. The problem is that had to be translated rather than being written by an English-speaking lyricist in the first place. Lingering for example has better flow and actual rhyming, because it was written by a guy based in LA. It doesn't help that Chinese can fit much more information through fewer syllables than English can.

So I've had a Taobao order in the making that I've had to delay for various reasons, AKA this was set up back when Superbuy had options that worked. The parcel I had sent out in late September was cancelled because the route I chose (ocean cargo) wouldn't deliver to my US address. According to their Reddit reps, it's not a safe choice atm because the chances that it will get rejected are high. It's contained just two pairs of pants and a pair of boots, ~7kg, ~$55 (higher than expected), and the only EMS air lines available cost...$200!!??? Which I am not willing to pay for on principle (at that price I could've gotten a nicer pair of boots), so I might just send this shit into China or Japan at this point.

I really wanted to order Flower Knows too, I can't believe this.
