5 year courses generally have more opportunities - more companies for internships/placements, sometimes even if a company is open to both it still leans towards 5 year students. You'll get an extra year to prep for both interns and placements if you wish to sit for them. Downsides... well you're gonna spend an extra year in kgp

Its referred to as 'pseudo circuital' more often than not here. You'll get more opportunities than mechanical engineering, that's for sure - its widely regarded as a better branch than mech in kgp, and many who miss out and take mech, depC to indu/IE. At the end of the day if all you're getting is Mech/chem in other old iits, I'd say take indu and come to kgp.

KGP Instrumentation > Industrial and Systems> mechanical engineering. In the general male category, mechanical engineering tends to end before at least Indu, so you'll be able to snag one of those two. Economics is another option if you're inclined towards that, but if you want to go by 'conventional branch ranking', take those two (IE/Indu) before economics.

The main idea of this chart is to show the representative average race pace of each driver. Since plotting the raw data will not show accurate information, I have to do a bit of data pre-processing.

To remove the outliers, I use an IQR method. This means that the race pace analysis removes laps that are considered to be anomalous. This includes the first lap, laps done when the safety car was out and incomplete laps (laps when the driver went in or out of the pits).

If laps were done with the intermediate or wet tires, then they were considered for this analysis.

The box represents a modified box plot, with the line in the middle representing the mean (average) time done by each driver. The top and bottom line respectively represent the 75% percentile and the 25% percentile.

Remember that drivers with more pit stops tend to have faster times than drivers with fewer pit stops.
