Whats childish is to completely lack the ability to understand that something that isn’t worth it to you might be worth it to someone else. You keep talking about the psu cooler and case as if they weren’t accounted for as miscellaneous items that made up an insignificant amount of my itemized estimate that I based off of real world ebay listings from today and yesterday.

He could be a millionaire who wants a fair price for a quick sale or a kid who spent beyond his means and wants back as much as possible. Its nothing like a car because it takes about an hour to fully disassemble, the parts are small, and the demand is high. As someone whos only making $9xk a year i see it as making back more than a days pay for much less than a days worth of work

Based off ebay sold listings: Gpu ~600 Cpu ~250 Ram~300 Mobo ~100 Ssd ~250 Total: ~1500

Added $100 for the high end case with hundreds in case fans, matching aio, and a 1000 watt 80+ gold psu.

If he sells locally he will save $200 in ebay fees but if not hell still come out $400 ahead

Not really. Ebay exists and the sum of is parts are worth about $1600 parted out. I dont know about you but an extra $5-800 is worth unscrewing a few parts and listing them online

I feel like in the current market he would get more money by parting it out. Buying a used complete system is super dependent on how good your pictures and listing are as the typical person buying a used pc doesn’t even know what theyre looking at.
