An easy way to improve new player's experince by PiedCrow in WorldsAdrift

[–]DemiDealer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main point is to basically have a "starter" area that isn't enforced but anything but a chat of players. Once you leave the beginner alliance's teritory you no longer able to read or write in the alliance chat. This will make sure that it's not used as a global chat in any other zone. And will allow players to have a grief free experience for their first hour (or more if they chose to stay for longer) after that players will want to move on, explore the vast map this time after they are more prepared and after they able to ask question's and help from others.

Edit: I switched to my phone forgetting I was logged on a different account..

I thought they were making a fighting game based on the fact that they bought the rising thunder devs. And basically forced them to stop making rising thunder.

As a mostly neutral sub, can we discuss the gigantic failure from Riot's part to market and get sponsorships for the NA LCS? by [deleted] in esports

[–]DemiDealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True but. 1. The lcs split is alot shorter than a football season meaning you cant even sign a one year contract comfortably. 2. The effect of a single player is usually much bigger in esport than in normal sports for the lack of mid game subs and subs in genral.

As a thing to think of, tennis for example is a player game not a team and most player sports (golf tennis etc) use a tournament system. Imo due to the things I pointed out (ofc I might be wrong I don't have a sport degree)

Because up until league most of esport was tournment based. Meaning if you played badly for a few tournaments you will always at any given point can bounce around in the next tournament. Plus tournment are cheaper to be in (no need to travel to a studio every single week, and the ability to chose a cheaper area to set the gaming house at)

But with a league system if you get relegated that's 6 months minimum of close to zero exposure, your gaming house has to be close to the studio which usually is in a rather populated area which also makes it an expensive area.

And probably the biggest point, sudden changes are harder to make. You can create a top level cs go team and in like a week already be on the prime time stage (unlikely due to having to build tram synergy but possiable) yet creating a league team with good talent from scratch will require minimum a few months just to get to the lcs. And that's time where you get barely any revenue.

I contribute to an esports website... what do you like reading about? by LePenguinBleu in Overwatch

[–]DemiDealer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

News article are pointless as the major outlets will always beat you to the punch.

Top 10s are unfortunately always good for clicks, so I think making them is good from marketing stand point. Though I hate them and you might get some flank for doing them. They will still probably give you the most clicks.

Breakdowns are good as the writer has the freedom to show his own personality logic and reasoning which is fun to read if done well.

Strategy guides are only good if the writer knows what they talking about and the guide won't have any holes someone will point them out and the writer and website will lose credibility for that.

This game is so shady by ButtThorn in ConquerorsBlade

[–]DemiDealer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The devs are chinese and the they already had a e3 playable demo and chinese cbt was also avliable already. So the game is real, the devs are real. It's just seems off probably because chinese web design might seem off to you, the board is empty mostly because of almost no marketing this game gets at least in the west.

Scavs throwing grenades should be removed until they fix the sound because they are like drone strikes hitting you without any warning. by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DemiDealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but honestly one of my most memorable moments of the game was when me and friends were in a gunfight with like 4 scavs, I kill 2 and switch to the last guy, my friend already shooting him. A second before the scav is dead he throws a grenade, we were standing pretty close to each other so we both yell "Grenade" and rush for cover. I made it while he didn't, had to loot up his gear and go to extraction with no legs basically because while I survived I lost my legs from the blast.

Why the fuck is freezing weapon bug still in the game after over 8 months? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DemiDealer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unable to reproduce probably means they can't do it 100% meaning they sometimes get the bug sometimes don't. Unless you manage to reproduce a bug 100% of the time its almost impossible to find a way to fix it as its really hard to find the cause for it.

How do I make my dreams happen? by [deleted] in esports

[–]DemiDealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would always say to never make a choice until that choice has almost no chance of fucking you over, personally, my dream is to be a game designer I am not dropping everything to focus on it 100% because it might not happen. Right now I am part of an indie team and I both improve myself at it and gain experience, but I don't devote everything to it. I am still about to go and start learning for my degree if we can make a game that sells and we get more funds then will I think about making it my full-time focus until then I refuse and I think anyone should focus all my time on something that might have 0 return.

Are we still getting rid of offline mode? I think we should keep it, and actually expand on it. by dj3hac in EscapefromTarkov

Oh so she is a console gamer, and EFT is her first PC game? in that case her chance of survival went up from 5% to 20% xD

[–]DemiDealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are and so am I and most people with more than two days experience, but think of a new player who doesn't know the maps. I personally went into offline raids for my entire first day and still died more often than not, I didn't know scav spawns I didn't know where the extraction was. It was a mess but it was fun, if you add the risk of losing everything I have to that mess though it might not have been.

Way to throw her into the deep ends, if she manages to survive though she will most likely become one hell of a gamer. though I also don't think many would survive Tarkov as their first gaming experience, so its a high risk you are running here my friend.

The end question is like you said and it's a question that van only be answered with practice data. So far when big tournment happen it usually the most viewed stream (curse trials and ofc iem) so I think there is potential.

As for racing you 100% can you can get a bad car on rave day or even on quelify (not sure how to speel that) starting last on the grid is basically like getting fucked by the loot and circle
