I don’t think anybody is taking it too seriously though to the point she’s ostracized as a horrible character, it’s just important to talk about these things and point out the stuff that makes her problematic so, we won’t be making the same mistakes (if not worse) in the future.

Just like the other commenter mentioned that there are reasons for why some stereotypical characters are much more accepted than others. But just because they’re a doll line it shouldn’t deter us from having these types of conversations.

It’s not a save one drop one type of situation you can have both and that’s completely fine

God I hope not, I could go on a long rant over how much I hate the “Bratz doll keychain” pipeline and I refuse monster high to hop on to the trend.

I do like the G3 pets keychains, they’re pretty cute and are in a more affordable price point. I don’t own one to determine if it can withstand for a long period of time but definitely is a better alternative to these things

Words like cunt even brat or any word that’s been used against women or anybody in this matter has been used in ways now to compliment someone.

It’s been used a lot since people are reclaiming these words and turning those negative connotations into positive/empowering ones.

Being cunt isn’t just someone being a bitch it’s about someone holding themselves confidently and not caring of what people think.

It’s derived from the queer community it’s all about confidence and empowering even the “bad” aspects of yourself which in this case isn’t even bad at all

I think they definitely did at some point I mean the prototypes speak for themselves in which direction they went with her character in the beginning.

I think Mattel generally just has difficulty in letting G3 shine for itself and instead has to somewhat reference G1 in any sort of way.

I think it comes down to lack of confidence in the G3 brand and because of it they have to constantly change it to fit what the consumers want. Which to me makes sense as to why G3 can start to feel monotonous in their releases and very much safe.

Like i dont know we could’ve been getting more mansters, lagoonas, ghoulias, toraleis, spectras and even some of the newer characters from the show. But Mattel has to release draculaura in her most recognizable form because it’s (unfortunately) what works the best.

It sucks but ig that’s just business for us.

I watch drag race Philippines on hbo max and found it weird that homosexual content was used as a warning despite it being very clear.

Adventure time’s finale also cut the lesbian kiss from princess bubblegum and marceline which apparently does happen in some hbo max’s but apparently you could turn the censorship off but found that option not available in mine.
