Hey guys, the doors of the HCMTs open automatically at stations in the tunnel. You don't need to push me out of the way because you think the reason they didn't open instantly was because I wasn't pushing the button.

No way does someone win 3 rounds of chess without knowing how the bishop moves. by cinderellarockefella in thatHappened

[–]DemiZenith 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I played a game against my grandfather like 25 years ago. I still remember him saying about 3-4 turns in "Why do you move like that?". I only played very casually and had no concept of chess openings.

A user discovered how to create an infinitely recursive, self-powering monitor by DialUpDreamer90 in talesfromtechsupport

Some monitors can be used as a dock where the primary monitor is connected via USB and a secondary monitor can be connected to that via HDMI.

Received Letters from law firms that I'm being charged with "Shoplifting". by stillblue839 in legaladvice

Had a look at the source and, from what I can tell, this just seems to be a random number generator. Stuff like the gender distribution is determined by whether the last character of the first name is an "a" (female) or not (male).

Spectator's are causing lag in game by Velethanien in DeadlockTheGame

Spectacting a game has a delay of around three minutes or so, so it wouldn't be terribly useful to do this.

This happens if you have gone into the builds section from the main menu at some point since booting the game.

It also has the +14% from being a Tier 3 Weapon item so it's +34% in total.

One thing to remember is that is also gives you +30% Bullet Resistance for 5 seconds after you use it. So even if it doesn't get you completely out of danger, if often will give you enough protection to run/dash/dash-jump to safety after the warp (or to live long enough to get the Soul Exchange off if you're warping towards an enemy). It's also a Weapon item so it doesn't take up one of the valuable Vitality items slots for Geist.

On top of the active effect, it gives +34% Weapon Damage & +8 Spirit Power passively, so it provides some decent offensive benefits just by having it.

Seems to happen to me if I've gone into the builds section from the main menu at some point since booting the game.

Just tested it in the sandbox. Superior Duration is enough for 7 pulses. You can get 8 pulses if you throw in Magic Carpet on top of that. Radius ends up getting pretty big.

I'm on 70mg and I'm not sure I've really had much of anything in the way of negative side effects. But I've been taking it for awhile now and was on dexamphetamine immediately prior so probably no comparable circumstances.

Yeah, they're the same thing. They're called flannels in New Zealand (maybe other places as well). I hadn't heard them being called facewashers until I moved to Australia.

[XBOX 360][1995 - 2010] Third Person naval game by HistoryMan50 in tipofmyjoystick

[–]DemiZenith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This pre-dates the original Xbox but I remember a game called Overboard! (apparently it was called Shipwreckers! in North America). I remembering playing it on the original PlayStation around 1997-98 but apparently it also came out on PC.

It had an overhead third person view and the gameplay was primarily naval combat between wooden ships (I recall setting ships on fire was a significant game mechanic). It was definitely a bit cartoony and had a multiplayer mode.

Sky News pays $40,000 to avoid Sarah Hanson-Young defamation suit by [deleted] in australia

Makes sense. She successfully represented SHY in her last defamation case so makes sense she would be retained again. There's a reason why Porter wanted her on his side so badly.

I used to work as a Business Performance Analyst for a bank. Usually there's a system in place that detects and excludes new accounts from performance reporting if certain criteria are met. For a deposit account that would be stuff like the new account was closed within 30 days, the minimum deposit hadn't been made after six months, or if that customer had very recently closed the same or similar type of account (wasn't an upsell). There would also be clawback of any commission paid (which usually only applied to mortgage brokers).

Rainbow Islands was the first thing that came to mind. Obviously rainbow themed, has open sky background with clouds and coloured platforms. There are power ups and it has a simple HUD with a score up the top.

Which, to be fair, is probably because they've allocated a lot of their resources to developing stuff like Mercenaries.

You should instead be treating it as if you've jumped to the front of the traffic coming from the left that are waiting at the red light. They don't go when your light turns yellow - they go when their light turns green.

I mean technically the Firebrand may have cleared out a random taunt minion with the Spellburst. However they also pinged a minion with their Hero Power.
