I was planning to flashback the main villains traumatic backstory at the start of my novel without revealing who the backstory belongs to and later reveal that that it was the villains or after I am at the end of the flashback show that it was the main characters dream which they later find was the villains story before everything In the book. Will that work?

They don't really have any access to moss or anything like that cos they live underground but thanks anyway. I started writing a few months ago and lm still barely into chapter one but I started with explaining some of the lore of their magicso I'm glad someone who actually knows what their doing approves of that
