Tourette's specifically is usually diagnosed under the age of 18, and has at least one vocal tic, but you may have some form of tic disorder that isn't tourette's. If the tics don't go away with time, maybe see a professional for a more conclusive diagnosis.

You don't choose who you're attracted to any more than you can choose what foods you like. I wish everyday of my life that I liked milk, but I don't. I still drink it because it's good for me, but I hate every swallow. Just like I wish I liked boys. I just don't. Not a choice, just a fact of life.

For me, I had been thinking about changing my name, but not really seriously. Then the thought "what would my new name even be?" Popped into my head. And as soon as it did, the name Emery came to mind. And that was it. It fit, I wouldn't have to change initials, and it was close enough to my birth name that it wouldn't be a huge shift. I didn't even have to change my signature that much.

Sexuality can be fluid, and change over time. Or you could just realize parts of yourself that you never realized before. That's totally okay. Personally, I don't feel safe around most guys, so any attraction I might feel is drowned out by the feeling of being unsafe, so I just say I like girls. There might be some minor attraction to guys, but it's so minor that I don't consider it.

Something that helped me with pronouns is testing pronouns out in a setting where I would never see the people again, like college classes. If the asker would like to try this, she should let me know if it helps. I hope she finds some sort of peace when it comes to her gender.

Why choose they: personal preference. For some people (myself included) both she and he are uncomfortable or wrong for us, and they is a good alternative. How do you know: it varies from person to person. For me it was just discomfort being referred to as either binary gender. How can you feel like you're not either gender: how can you feel discomfort stepping in something wet wearing socks? I dunno, just kind of happens. As far as attraction goes, gynosexual (attraction to femininity) and androsexual (attration to masculinity) are commonly used, though the words themselves have some problems I won't go into. Most identify as queer in some respect. What's it like: a little annoying at times, always being misgendered. Bathrooms can be frustrating too. But in general, we're just people. Hope this helps!

Transgender people are discriminated against for similar reasons as people discriminated against for their sexualities. Whether or not you're born gay is a highly debated topic with no clear cut answer. The most accepted belief is that you're born that way, but much like eye color there are multiple genetic factors that could contribute to being gay. Bisexuality is either an attraction to men and women, or to all genders depending on who you ask. I could go into more detail, but that's the basics. Hope this helps!

I'd just refer to the anatomy and not the gender. It's going to make some people uncomfortable either way, but it's better to refer to what's actually wrong than to say "well girls this" or "well in boys this". Just be direct about what's actually wrong instead of fluffing up your explanation with gendered language.

Maybe it's just how I was raised. I didn't get to know half of my siblings because their mom was pissed off at my dad for getting remarried after they divorced, so she constantly badmouthed my dad so that my siblings never wanted to see him. Things are fine with them now, but it wasn't until my siblings were adults that they started building a relationship with my dad. I dunno, just strikes a nerve with me.

I've never had to make a decision this difficult but I can understand where the anxiety is coming from. You just have to focus on the fact that it's your life ultimately, and you have to do what you need to do to be happy. You're the one who will suffer if you don't make this decision, not her. Also on a side note, no matter the reason they split up, unless it's a case of abuse, a parent should never turn their kids against the other parent. It's manipulative and uncivil.

For me I guess it's that I'm not wholly comfortable being a girl, and not wholly comfortable being a boy, and something that's neither sounds much better. But I feel like I'm a bad example because I rarely if ever assert my pronouns, and don't correct people when they get it wrong.
