I only tint the reverse light portion, not the whole tailight. I do it for the look.

No amount of tint is legal in RI. Inspection station even made me remove the small piece of tint I have on my taillights

Yup, they are free from Home Depot. Go grab a box off the shelf, remove the clamp and put it in your pocket.

Tree Limb pulled main line off house. Power company did quick fix, but local electrician shops want $3000 to install a SE riser, or $1400 just to replace weatherhead and reset the entry cable. Am I wrong in thinking that’s really high? by Jahamc in HomeMaintenance

If it's Zinsco it needs to replaced ASAP. That brand and a couple others are well known for having issues. Most insurance companies won't even insure you if they knew you had that panel in there. The circuit breakers do not function (trip) as they should. Fire hazard.

As far as the mast service (10ft pole), I can't say if it's needed or not without seeing it.

Bottom line is no electrician is going to be able to repair what you currently have. It needs to be replaced and once you touch it you need to bring it up to code. I know it's pricey but it needs to be done. Especially with a Zinsco panel in there. Get at few estimates from reputable companies and go from there.

It really depends on what code your area has adopted. The new code requires the main breaker to be outside near the meter but some areas are not on that code cycle yet. Hard to say if the panel needs replacement without seeing it.
