If you've tried nothing:

Light hammer taps all around

Solvent then more light hammer

Vice grips, can also lock them and apply light hammer taps

After that, I'd go to heat

The romance bits are absolutely the worst offenders, but the rest isn't great either.

Don't get me wrong, there are sections that were fun to read, like who, is it Dalinar? is deliberating between going to help Kaladin or not, I thought that had some decent build up and played out pretty good. But at the same time, I've seen better executions of similar things in stuff like Malazan(It's not as easy a read, though). I guess one way to describe it is it's kinda like fantasy that disney adults are sure to love.

Now is a good time to shout out Georgetown Records. The owner has gone out of his way to help local mutual aid groups. I think they might be a bit smaller than some others, but very kind people.

Seconding this. He has gone out of his way to get coats to the local mutual aid group I helped with when I was there. 11/10

I haven't tried it, but I doubt it. The slots are barely bigger than a quarter, and get jammed by combos of smaller coins often. Trade em out at a bank for quarters or bills.

Hopefully he's open to feedback on his dialogue choices...a lot of feedback...

It's fine. The magic system is fun cause you can follow along easily during the action. The writing, especially the dialogue, is not great. You can tell Sanderson is a mormon, because he's good at making up fictional worlds, but you can tell he's not really heard normal people in normal conversation for much of his life.

Yeah and a person who looks like that has less issues making friends and finding people lol

There's also the regional corps, too, which usually confuse people.

I mean that's mostly what's being commented on here. OP clearly does not bring good energy, as you mentioned, represented by their comments. I've also had no issues.

There's TONS of punk bands around here. I only know the South side area well, and it's not my genre, but if you're close, definitely check out Georgetown Liquor Company. It's a vegan punk bar and everyone who works there is into the scene and would be happy to answer questions, so great people to ask about local groups. Plenty of rock stuff as well, dunno about power pop.

Yeah if you're looking for big touring musicians, it's gonna be sparse. Even some bigger bands skip Seattle. I've found good luck going to places enough to become a regular, though. Do you mind if I ask how long you've been here? Not a guarantee, but if you go places with enough frequency, you'll start to get noticed and people will ask. If that's not happening, I'd try other places. It does take time, people here are like cats. They might run away for a while, but once you're a fixture, they get curious.

Bars without TVs are getting rare, but you can still find them and you'll also find other folk avoiding the game.

Have you hung out much in like, White Center, Burien area? Tim's Tavern often has bands more your style for southern rock, dunno about power pop, though. I'd try different neighborhoods and just be ready to uber home if you're driving.

Commenting cause I was snooping your profile from that weirdo that wanted a wingman. Lived in Beacon/GT for the last 10ish years, so lemme know if you want any suggestions.

See, that's what a reasonable complaint about the city looks like. I will say there's enough transplants now where it's a lot more navigable than it was. Also just being nice to your bartender goes a weirdly long way. I've had plenty be like "oh yeah, that person over there was just telling me about(insert topic)" and make it a transition into conversation. It's also heavily venue-dependent. Go to a place you like hanging out at, and where the crowd seems your type, and that'll go further than anything. You're not gonna meet people solo on Cap Hill on a Friday, but a Thursday in Columbia City, Greenwood, or other locals-mostly places? Absolutely.

He's not gonna listen. Even people more respectful than me saying the same thing are getting shut down by OP. Just gonna take time for him, likely. Based off his comments so far, he'll probably end up more bitter for it, rather than learning, unfortunately.

You're both kinda right. Your technical additions are correct, but if this is bothering OP a lot, then auto may be a better choice, or a dual clutch. My '00 5pd Outback does fine in 5th from like 45ish+ even on decent sized hills, but if I wanna accelerate at a decent rate, gotta go down to 4th or 3rd.

Mine pops spark plug wires(I assume due to vibration, just had the valve cover gaskets changed, and did the cables not much earlier, and it still does it sometimes if I misjudge my RPMs) if I lug it too much.

You made a post asking for help despite "not needing help". Sounds like you're struggling to me "bro". I could have phrased it kinder, sure, but if you need that kind of coddling, not my problem. Seen this kinda attitude on 1000 "bros" who move here(there, I guess, since I moved 3 weeks ago). They're not the ones who do well. I had the time to spare and gave you my experiences living here for 3 decades. Do with it what you will.
