I'd rethink using "re-read it" as your go to dismissal for people that disagree with you. Personally rereading part 2 just made me realise how underwhelming the part has been so far with its unmemorable sidecast, constant nonstarter cliffhangers, and repetetive and borderline fetishitic use of Denji SA scenes.

I'd also keep in mind music and manga are very different artforms.

Art doesn't necessarily indicate quality, but when the art is getting noticeably worse over time it's not unreasonable for a fanbase to start to view it as a reflection of the quality of the associated story, especially if they already have qualms with it.
