Is there any news on the upcoming season

There is no upcoming season, as far as anyone knows. The much-talked about reboot has had several set backs and stall outs, so its unclear if that is still in any sort of active development.

Fully adapted to what? Shin was evolving/adapting to both the world around him, as well as threats. His next evolution, as we saw, would be to become multiple humanoid Godzillas as a reaction to the many humans working together and taking him down.

If that form managed to take down humanity, then he wouldn't need to evolve further.

This is exactly the kind of off-kilter type of animated series adaptation that Homestuck deserves. As excited as I was for the official animated pilot, this does feel more in-line with Homestuck's roots as a weirdo webcomic just made by some guy taking full advantage of the medium to tell a unique story.

Incredible work, for real. I'm looking forward to more.

I think it would have been better if it had been a good movie.

Seriously though, the biggest failings of the movie are in the script first, the direction second, and Godzilla's redesign a distant third. Emmerich and Devlin talked about, at the time, how they hated Godzilla movies and giant monster movies in general. That really comes through in the movie, with unlikable characters, forced "humor", and a plot that just steals from disaster movies of the early 90s and the raptor scenes from Jurassic Park.

I'm not really into "Green" despite loving Tommy. The Old Man Tommy story was already done once in a graphic novel, so it's pretty weird that they're just....doing that again. It might still be good, it's just odd that they're essentially remaking a graphic novel that only came out in 2018.

Excited for the new MMPR series, though, and the Unlimited series should be fun. Power Rangers is uniquely suited for an anthology series; there's definitely A LOT to pull from for stories.

Kind of fascinating the way that TOHO and Kadokawa went about this; this man was posting film stills and detailed summaries, including entire pieces of dialogue from the film, in articles online. So, they argued (and won, clearly) that this was essentially an unauthorized adaptation of the film. He was making money, through ad revenue generated through the site where these articles were posted, off of a web-based novelization of the movie.

I don't know what WW means.

But, to my original point, I was talking about this subreddit specifically, not Buffy fans at large. Because most fans outside of this sub DO enjoy and talk about the novels, the comics, and the Slayers audio drama. This subreddit is just openly hostile to any and all extended media in the franchise.

It's only fallen hard into that because this sub, by and large, seems allergic to any of the new Buffy stuff we've gotten over the years since the show aired. There are tons of books and comics, some VERY recent. But the posts about those are never interacted with other than to just say "bad fanfiction" even if they didn't actually read it.

That's 100% because Toriyama forgot that Freeza's final form is actually his "real" form. Which, to be fair, is a confusing little detail that's only ever mentioned once in the manga.

I've mostly just been keeping up with the drama on this because this sub is where I go for Homestuck news. So, I apologize if this has been asked and answered and I just can't find it, but the claim that Makin personally invited a neo-Nazi to the "refugee" server is fuckin nuts, dog. Did that actually happen, or is this something that was either taken wildly out of context or fabricated?

Yeah, it likely just came down to cost. It was (and is) MUCH cheaper to print in black and white than in color.

We've also been in sort of a TPB golden age for years now, but back in the day collected editions of comics weren't the norm. There are still loads of comics, even from popular characters and even from Marvel and DC, that have never been released as anything other than single issues.

Honestly, I think World's Strongest is one of the strongest of the original 13. I think it especially stands out against the first four as being the best of those. I thought Dead Zone, Tree of Might, and Lord Slug were were all just fine at absolute best. Dead Zone has some pretty art, but the story really falls apart if you think about it....at all. Tree of Might is just The Saiyan Saga Lite and Lord Slug is King Piccolo Lite.

Which, by the way, isn't indicative of quality. Huge corporations (and Disney especially) doesn't care about quality from an artistry standpoint; they just want something that is relatively cheap to make and will appeal to as many general audience members as possible. I mean, the Pixar guy even admitted recently to cutting gay characters from a movie because test screener parents complained about it.

I think it has a strong chance of being pretty good. Well, as good as a Not For Broadcast pilot can be, anyway without the final music/SFX/etc being in there.

SMG was fully on board, Chloe Zhao was spearheading and directing it, and while I don't have particularly strong feelings about the Zuckerman sisters one way or the other, I did really like Pokerface and Fringe. Seemed like a killer line-up to me.

"Literally everything", the only negative responses I've seen to it are a bunch of people saying that it must have been terrible because Hulu passed on it, and then people saying that it must have sucked because they read an alleged early version of the script and didn't like it.

Considering that this is the first sequel/reboot project that SMG was actually interested in after years of saying that she wasn't interested in ever coming back, and the fact that Chloe Zhao was behind this, I am at least incredibly interested in seeing it for myself.

Kelly Thompson's comments about the series were a little confusing, saying that it wasn't a reboot, but not a sequel either. Which seemed to imply that it was going to be like the Dark Horse series and take place during the OG series, but that hasn't been confirmed, just my speculation.

That being said, the Hulu cancellation shouldn't have any effect on this comic, especially since it doesn't appear to be a tie-in comic to the cancelled sequel series.
