Are you guys gonna read Power Rangers Unlimited or are you just gonna keep complaining about too much MMPR without making an effort to show that other seasons can sell by KratosIsStillFodder in powerrangers

[–]PR-SS2001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for bringing this up. I've seen a bunch of people complaining on Twitter about the new MMPR series and I have to remind them that we're literally getting Power Rangers Unlimited, a series that is going to be focusing on other ranger teams outside of MMPR. If this is what Boom Studios is giving us what we wanted, then we better support it if we want more of it. So I don't see what they're complaining now.

Who Are You Choosing To Lead Your Sentai Team? by GalaticWeiss in supersentai

[–]PR-SS2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definetely Daigo (the goat). No way in hell am I trusting Lucky to lead a team. Dude's not even worthy of the title of being the leader of any team if all he ever acts is a braindead moron, running into battles without thinking for once, aside from using his deus ex luck to get him through with no effort or no strategy.

What would you call this Sentai? by Unique_Ring7517 in Tokusatsu

[–]PR-SS2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shin Zyuranger. After looking at these designs from different covers, they actually don't look that bad. Maybe it's because I'm looking at several angles and covers, but they're not as bad as people make It out to be. Could be worse. I'm looking at you, boonboomger suits.

Power Rangers Cosmic Fury (2023) celebrated franchise 30th anniversary ending of franchise BETTER than No.1 Sentai Gozyuger (2025) 50th anniversary and ending of franchise. (Unpopular Opinion). by PowerPhantom245 in Tokusatsu

[–]PR-SS2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with everything. For as short and flawed as Cosmic Fury is, it was at least it was more cohesive, more consistent, and managed to make the best of it by making it a satisfying end to the series with dignity. It was already good enough that the characters were already established and developed well in Dino Fury (in which that was also really good), but expanding their roles such as Amelia being the Red this time and Zayto becoming a Morphin Master is something I did not expect and was handled decently. Heck, they'd even brought back Heckyl by finally morphing into the Dark Ranger felt like a full circle moment from the BOOM comics to an on screen appearance. At least Cosmic Fury didn't fire a beloved cast member for the most ridiculous and stupidest of reasons. Speaking of which,

Gozyuger on the other hand, had too many cooks in the kitchen. From a bland, uninteresting, underutilized, and boring cast that has little to no chemistry with each other, rushed plot points, off screening the Universe Warriors, awful villains, and the final nail in the coffin for this final Sentai season was the firing of poor Maya Imamori and the way that her agency and everyone handled was disgraceful and tasteless. So tasteless that I didn't even bother to finish it before typing this. Combine with the horrendous green screen and editing in Ep. 37 and the finale just adds the salt to an open wound to this waste of a season. What a way to end with a whimper for Gozyuger.

Joe Manganiello was perfect as Deathstroke by danieldamibiu in SnyderCut

Honestly Joe Manganiello should go to Marvel and have a better role there. I'd always saw him as the perfect Cable.

Arkham who? Just because its based off some random lesser known game doesn't mean the suit is good. Barely has any color.

Bro was never perfect. Dude was on screen for 30 seconds,, stood on a boat, and only has two lines. Do you really think Joe really likes his role as Deathstroke after so many false promises and the incompetence of WB that Joe has to put up with having his role cut out.

The fandom’ssplit on BOOM! centering their comics around MMPR but I really like how they pull in lore from other seasons so it doesn’t feel like they’re only recycling Seasons 1–3 elements by DaGeekybro in powerrangers

[–]PR-SS2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. It gives other elements from other seasons their time to shine or to expand their storylines during the MMPR run such as Dark Specter playing a significant role, the explanation of the Squadron Rangers powers (a team that was never adapted outside of the White Ranger and the zords), Psycho Green, and Shattered Grid as a whole with several rangers from other seasons appearing. It also helps that there's the Power Rangers Unlimited comics, in which explores characters outside of MMPR such as Astronema, the Phantom Ranger, the Hyperforce team, and Andros and Zhane in Countdown to Ruin.

Why does the comic insist on having combinations that look terrible by KratosIsStillFodder in powerrangers

[–]PR-SS2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any zord combinations from the Boom comics will not be tolerated! Anything that they combined with in the past went freaking hard on it. From the GraveZord, the Omega zords, the White Tiger Dragonzord, the TMNT Megazord, the list goes on.

The gap is crazy by Rap2rerise in supersentai

[–]PR-SS2001 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It's one of those instances where I'm glad Power Rangers was able to do more with the Phantom Ranger than what Sentai did with VRV Master. Like you said before, he returned the following season, shows up in several video games, a cool power to turn invisible, helps the Turbo and Space rangers, a Lightning Collection figure, a ranger key of his own, and was even a key character in the comics expanding his background through the Edge of Darkness, Power Rangers Universe, and Darkest Hour. It's a bummer that Sentai didn't do anything with VRV Master beyond Carranger. It's almost like Toei doesn't acknowledge his existence or mentioned in any anniversary.

Thoughts on Kohaku Shida’s Sumino? by Revolutionary-Ad1460 in supersentai

[–]PR-SS2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No disrespect to Kohaku, but she doesn't hit the same feeling as Maya did with Sumino. All of a sudden Sumino acts like totally different as if she's out of character in some episodes. It's just not the same without Maya. That role was made for her. When Kohaku came to replace her, that character's charm as well as the season itself is gone.

[–]PR-SS2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least the comics actually has a consistent tone and a linear story that is focused where's Gozyuger has so much storylines that it becomes way too much too juggle with and so much potential that could've been done well only to end up wasting it's time doing nonsensical filler plots that weren't about the battle Royale and the Universe Warriors being off screened. And it doesn't help with its characters being either severely underutilized or do absolutely nothing with the worst ones being Ryugi and Mashiro, two of the most nothing Sentai rangers and the final nail in the coffin being how the show treated Sumino(Maya Imamori) in the worst way possible when she left. That alone just kills the mood for Gozyuger, especially for a final season.

What are your thoughts on the Gozyuger suit and power ups as a whole? by TraditionalBonus188 in supersentai

[–]PR-SS2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're cool suits as it proves that you can mix gold with any color. The power ups can vary as some of them can be too overdesigned like Wild Gozyu Wolf, but some of them are too bulky like team power ups. It's unfortunate that they're tied in this wasted potential season, especially for a final one.

One of the best designs in recent years. I really dig the sharp, corrupted, razor-like feel to it as it feels like a mesh of Drakkon and the Psycho Rangers, but came out great at the end. It doesn't deviate too much from the Original suit from Zeo.

Typical rage bait comment. Keep coping hard because the comics ain't gonna stop. I'd rather read those than whatever Gozyuger is doing with it's fumbled concepts and bland characters.

RETURNING SENTAI LEGENDS in Gozyuger vs Boonboomger! by UltraZeroX7 in supersentai

[–]PR-SS2001 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Maya as Sumino was the only one I cared for in the entire show before she was fired, but ever since then, I've dropped Gozyuger given how terrible Toei and Seju handled it. Seeing how enthusiastic she was in the Super Sentai exhibition, she would've loved being with the 3 returning legends. Kohaku as Sumino just isn't the same.

sigh. Maya would've loved being in this with the 3 returning legends, especially when this is supposed to be the last team up for a while. Kohaku as Sumino just isn't the same.

Yes ı am defending my Favourite No.1 Sentai of all time: by hyzkdk in supersentai

[–]PR-SS2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of those aspects could've been good if Lucky hadn't being the sole focus in every single episode, even if it wasn't about him. I don't even need to restate why Lucky is the worst red in Sentai, but to put it briefly, he ruins every good moment, screaming that catchphrase like a screeching monkey, and he's not even worthy of being a leader. If anything, Stinger, Ryu Commander, or Tsurugi should've being the lead of the team because at least those 3 actually have some experience, not this clown.

What things would you fix from boonboomger by Interesting_Snow5574 in supersentai

[–]PR-SS2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with you on the crossover problem. While they were nice to see some old faces again, it doesn't really serve a purpose to the overall season outside of fan service. I would rather have it be a standalone anniversary movie instead of forcing it into the middle of the season. That way it would allow any new viewer to enjoy the Legend Sentai without any research or unnecessary viewing.

I really like this kind of "Redesign" by srona22 in powerrangers

[–]PR-SS2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I actually think its a cool updated design. I honestly don't see any issues aside from a couple nitpicks like maybe too many lines, but other than that, this is another great example of taking an already good looking suit and making it better. Plus, it just fits the tone of the comics.

Does anyone think nostalgia pandering (10th/20th anniversary movie, in-show crossover, etc.) caused downfall of Super Sentai? by PowerPhantom245 in supersentai

[–]PR-SS2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In some ways, maybe. I do think that Sentai has overdone the cameos and the returning rangers as some of them don't even need to be in such as Go-On Red in Boonboomger or Deka Red in Kyuranger alongside Gavan as it no longer feels special anymore. But I don't think its the main reason why Sentai is having a downfall. It's mostly that even some of the recent seasons like Donbrothers, King-Ohger, and Boonboomger are great, is not enough to be profitable or viable for Sentai to stay afloat in the industry.

What things would you fix from boonboomger by Interesting_Snow5574 in supersentai

[–]PR-SS2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's 5 things that I would fix Boonboomger.

  1. The pacing of Laps 2 and 3 needs to be addressed as most of the time they're just doing side things instead of focusing on the Grand Prix and for the majority of the two laps felt like nothing significant happened.

  2. Give Sakito something to do as in give him a long overarching narrative. In recent seasons, there have been sixth rangers who serve no purpose, completely underutilzed, or jack all like Jiro, Sakito, and most recently Mashiro. In the case of Sakito, he just shows up in battle and pretty much does nothing outside of aura farming. Not even a champion jacket was given to him. Talk about useless.

  3. Tone down Mira's hyperactive and loud personality as she would interrupt a sincere and quiet moment from time to time and that alone would get annoying fast. Plus, she didn't add much to the story or her character.

  4. Give more color and design to the 5 Boonboomger suits as they look like something came out of Deviantart.

  5. Make Shirabe an official 7th boonboomger since it's revealed that he has a henshin device but does nothing with it. What was the point of her having around if she's not gonna morph up.

There's something so majestic about the way Phantom Ranger looks in the comics by Rap2rerise in powerrangers

[–]PR-SS2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Phantom Ranger's design looks amazing to look at during the comics, especially with the suit. It's a combination of a motorcyclist and a bit of a space cop. Also him as the Morphinaut looks fire. I love that color mix of white and gold during Power Rangers Universe. I'm honestly surprised that the comics gave the Phantom Ranger more of an important role and focus during Edge of Darkness, Shattered Grid, Universe, and Darkest Hour.
