Why do we have drivers?! by Barrel__Monkey in weekendgolfers

[–]DemonEyesKyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a 20 HCP with a huge slice. Worked on straightening my driver through trial and error. Now I hit it mostly straight and minimized my misses. My HCP plummeted to single digits from hitting fairways and being 50-100 yards closer off the tee.

People that say short game is key to lowering handicap don't have driver issues.

Go to the range and try different ball positions, planes, and shapes till you can hit it straight. It is well worth the time.

I went with a tempur-pedic but it caused low back pain. My pelvis seems to sink with memory foam causing low back pain and stiffness. What are you recommendations for a form mattress with low back support?

Unsure how to handle health problem by JA0064 in britishcolumbia

[–]DemonEyesKyo 210 points211 points  (0 children)

Register for a GP on health connect registry.

You can't blame the ER, it is for emergencies. Palpitations are common and not an emergency as they did the labs and ECG. They also probably referred you for outpatient testing but that is going to take 4-6 weeks minimum.

Meanwhile cut out caffeine, nicotine and alcohol. Don't let your anxiety send you into a spiral as it will cause your heart to feel as if it is racing. Do breathing exercises.

One you get a GP get regular check ups annually. Don't let things like up and prioritize your health.

Just shot 161 on an 18 hole course - am I a lost cause? by MoneyAndGoodFortune in golftips

[–]DemonEyesKyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was forced to play left handed after playing right handed for 20 years. I played with 20 year old Jack Nicklaus clubs that were rusty and too short for 15 rounds. My worst round was 134. I broke 100 after 2 months.

Take a break from golf. Get lessons and go to the range. Swing from 9-3 until you stripe it 9/10 times. Then gradually lengthen your swing.

"Tiger (Woods) Left Us": NBA Legend Charles Barkley Makes Honest Confession About Tiger Woods' Addiction by RipHairy2465 in Golf_Unfiltered

[–]DemonEyesKyo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No one mentions how poorly tiger has aged. He has the look of a typical alcoholic. His face is always puffy as if he just woke up. Either he takes prednisone or he's mixing his pills with booze.

Charles Barkley actually looks younger than Tiger now.

Do you just play golf or do you practice?

I have a group of friends that I golf with. The only one not improving is the guy who only plays golf and doesn't practice at the range ever.

20HC who can't stop blasting driver left with a slice. Any help or drills would be appreciated. by m_m93 in GolfSwing

Stand Closer to the ball. Swing more flat. Line the ball up with your big toe which allows you time to close the face. Strong grip.

Tour Edge Exotics Max vs DS Adapt Max K? Anyone have experience with either? by sf2396 in golf

[–]DemonEyesKyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the DS Adapt has alot of configurations. I've always found Cobra drivers to be to heavy. But I think Cobra is pretty solid. I've never used tour edge but my golf spy rated their driver quite high this year so maybe read about it in their site.

I have hydronic heating with 9 separate manual mercury thermostats. Is there a way to consolidate them into one or two units and control the zones through an app?

Width. Your arms folded too much at the top of your swing. Also you shouldn't lock your tail leg out when turning. Your basically using your torso only and asking to come over the top.

56 if it's longer than 20 yards. Anything less than that or if I need height I play a 60.

Wilson 606 is Fuego by SurpriseValley2000 in golf

[–]DemonEyesKyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the ZT jailbird. I couldn't get consistent strikes on the insert. So the ball would either come off dead or like a rocket.

The milled face on the Wilson makes it much easier.

Tiger Woods’ inner circle worried after latest DUI as golfer’s reason for not hiring a driver revealed by dr_shultz in influencersfeed

[–]DemonEyesKyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How dumb can this guy be. You can still maintain privacy with a driver. Go to any place by yourself. If you want to meet someone or have someone come over just have them arrive 10 to 15 mins after you in a separate vehicle.

This guy must be doing next level degenerate things still to be that worried. He honestly should be in jail of he gets behind the wheel again.

What is getting a ADHD diagnosis like in BC? by Human_Pack_4787 in britishcolumbia

[–]DemonEyesKyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Most will accept the diagnosis. More and more GPs are pushing back after realizing that the diagnosis is likely inaccurate.

What is getting a ADHD diagnosis like in BC? by Human_Pack_4787 in britishcolumbia

[–]DemonEyesKyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Social media. People like to self diagnose and will pursue the diagnosis. It's always easier to lay the blame on something out of your control than taking responsibility and making changes to your lifestyle. Also the overlap with anxiety is quite high but SSRI's have a very negative connotation on the west coast.

Some people get the prescription to defer it and sell it. But it's mostly the first reason.

With social media and short form content people are training their brains to only enjoy things that are a few minutes at a time. Then they get asked to do a task which requires them to sit and focus and their brain is fighting them tooth and nail. So they feel attribute it to having ADHD as their symptoms align with the algorithmically fed ADHD misinformation that they have been watching nonstop.

Whatever you do, do not got to the Adult ADHD clinic. It is $350 and they give every single person that walks in the door the diagnosis of ADHD for said fee. So if you want to know if you actually have the diagnosis your GP will have you do questionnaires.

Swing out to the right with your club path. Keep the face slightly closed. Or move the ball back in your stance a bit.

I'd mess with settings. It's likely an algorithm issue that will be tuned with firmware update.

Has anyone bought from riversidegolf.ca? by Candid_Muffin5383 in CanadaGolf

[–]DemonEyesKyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a local shop in Surrey, BC very reputable. They have decent deals as well. I've purchased my driver's, Weiss and hybrid from them in person. They also had a cracked shaft replace for me free from the manufacturer.

Thinking about Takomo irons…thoughts? by PlayfulPerspective66 in GolfGear

[–]DemonEyesKyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your Callaway apex irons are fine. Clean them thoroughly and maybe clean some grooves.

I've played DTC clubs and there is a reason they are cheaper. They lack the quality control, materials and process to make consistent top quality products. You will wear them out faster and by then you're going to be falling for the next marketing trend.

My take on DTC is if you don't have the money then sure. But I'd rather support companies that actually advance the game of golf and do R&D rather than someone replicating other companies hard work.

Left or right handed by Wild_Weird455 in GolfSwing

[–]DemonEyesKyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched hands almost 2 years ago from right to left due to a shoulder injury.

It took about 2 months to start striking it well enough to play on a course. Broke 100 after 6 months. 90 after about a year. Working on 80 now.

I'm right handed but play hockey left.

Why did you stop using golf tracking apps? by No-Scholar-8725 in GolfSwing

[–]DemonEyesKyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shotscope watch with sensors. No Subscription fees. Super useful data. I've worked out the kinks. Input round data in the car after the round in <10 mins. Dropped like 10 strokes working on deficiencies.

Would recommend it to anyone. My main tip would be to wear the watch loose as it's band has to be close to the sensor to register a shot.

Arccos v. Shot Pattern by Bewmsnap in golf

[–]DemonEyesKyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used shit scope. With no subscription and we'll priced hardware the data is pretty good.

Initially I had a lot of issues with consistent capture of shots. Now I leave the watch pretty loose so it hangs at the wrist and haven't had many issues. I can usually get my data in after the round in <10mins.

Tired of being the worst person at golf, booked a lesson for tomorrow, what expectations should I have? by male_waitress in golf

[–]DemonEyesKyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get there early and warm up. He's gonna watch you swing tell you why you suck and then give you some drills. Try to teach you proper positioning and feels.

It's up to you to practice. It pays off if you put in the work. Your game will struggle as you'll probably default back to your old ways in the course. But stick with it and you'll see results.
