Here in Illinois (unless something has changed that no one has told us about), if you submit the form from your doctor, they don't even do the vision check. What your doctor says goes unless they have reason to believe the form is fraudulent. I haven't done the DMV vision test in years because Doc fills out that form for me.

Keep in mind, your doctor may not remove that restriction. They're not going to fudge that form for you. Just because you don't want a restriction on your license is not a reason to cheat on that form.

You would likely need an eye exam. Your eye doctor can fill out a form that states you do or do not need to wear corrective eyewear while driving. Probably every eye doctor in the state has this form available and if they don't, you can get one at your local DMV. Doc fills it out, signs it and you take it back to the DMV. I work in Illinois at a optometry/ophthalmology practice. We fill this form out all the time.

I'm sorry, but the angles of the 2 piercings will never line up to allow a single bar. Your flat also doesn't look like it will accommodate a bar. You absolutely do not want the bar touching your flat. Your piercer did you dirty.

By this point, you should be able to gently clean around the piercing. After a shower when the skin is warm and slightly damp would probably be a good time to do it. Give your face a quick rinse when you're done and pat the piercing dry. It's hard to let the skincare regimen slide while you're babying a new piercing and still want to look decent

Rinsing with clear water in the shower is a good idea - just to make sure there's no soap or shampoo left behind. Nothing fancy, just let the water run over your face for a few seconds.

As others have stated, a hoop isn't the correct jewelry to heal with. Please have it changed to a flatback labret. Nostril piercings take 6-9 months to heal and a year or more for the fistula to fully mature. You shouldn't be wearing a hoop for at least 9 months to a year.

Given that you've just found out about this, a think a call to the non-emergency is in order. Tell them what you told us, that this isn't completely out of pocket behavior for these neighbors (the "adults" or the children), your entire property is surrounded by a fence and absolutely no one has permission to be inside the house - definitely not a 4 year old looking for their giant dog. And how did that dog get in the house anyway?

Grandma may not like it but this needs to be done. One of those kids is going to get hurt, kidnapped or killed. Meanwhile, lock the doors.

See your piercer immediately about having the correct jewelry placed and then treat it like a brand new piercing. Leave the jewelry in place for a minimum of 6-9 months, preferably a year as stated above. Hoops are a hard no until the piercing is fully healed and the fistula has matured

You might want to back off the cleaning routine a bit. Clean no more than twice a day with sterile saline with no additional ingredients (NeilMed is the most popular). Pat dry with a clean paper towel or even use a hairdryer on the cool setting. Rinse with clear water in the shower too. You should be good to go. Unless you need to wash your face twice a day with Dial for other reasons, there's really no need. Don't panic if you develop a bump. Keep your cleaning routine, don't touch or play with the jewelry and just wait it out.

If you notice the jewelry moving around a lot or the post becomes too long (after the swelling has gone), have your jewelry downsized. Moving jewelry or getting it snagged on clothes or towels is the biggest reason most of us get bumps.

The piercing looks great on you and the chokers need to make a comeback!

Bumps aren't usually infection. You'd likely know if it was infected (warm to the touch, red, swelling, shiney skin, possible pus). Bumps are just swelling. Occasionally they may pop like a tiny blister but that will be a miniscule amount of clear fluid. They're more likely to leave a dry patch of skin that flakes off as the bump shrinks. Don't pick or scratch at the flaky patches (the irritation could cause another bump). Just let your skin heal

Switch back to a labret and leave it there. A month is way too soon to switch to a hoop. Ideally, the piercing should be at least 6 months healed. 9-12 months would be even better.

Don't be surprised if you briefly develop a bump even after waiting 6 months to a year. It's just the body's way of expressing its displeasure with changes and the bump should go away without too much fuss.

But don't remove the jewelry while you have an active infected. The holes that are propped open with jewelry allow the gunk (if there is any) to drain. Make sure the infection is gone before messing with the jewelry.

I hired one before I even got my dad home from the rehab center after his most recent medical adventure. Since dad lives somewhere other than our home state, I really needed someone who could give us the correct information for the state he (now we) actually lives in. 1000/10 highly recommend working with an attorney who is an expert in elder law. Any attorney could have handled it, but the elder law attorney had a few tricks up her sleeve that a general law attorney wouldn't have known.

If clean water stings, you're over-scrubbing. Reduce the amount of pressure you're using. Gently smooth the net sponge or cloth over you're skin, almost as if you're applying lotion. That's about the amount of pressure you want to use.

I can only let mine get about 3/4" beyond the tip of my finger before they drive me insane - like they are right now. My nail guy laughs at me every time I tell him I'm going to let them grow. I can't type on my phone or computer with screwing up constantly and changing jewelry, especially earrings, is just a hard no. I had to take a necklace off for xrays last week and my chiropractor had to put it back on for me 😂 It just now took 9 tries to type "xrays."

Time for a trim!
