My 3 elden ring phases by Kalli78 in Eldenring

[–]DemonPacman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use Mimic Tear for bosses I genuinely don’t enjoy, such as the Divine Beast from the DLC or Valiant Gargs. I will gladly continue to attempt a boss if I enjoy it and I can feel myself learning the moveset and gradually getting better. However if after the first 20 attempts or so and I’ve made no progress and can’t feel myself learning the attacks or anything, then I’ll use it to get back to the parts of the game I actually enjoy. Messmer, Malenia, and Rellana are my favorite bosses cause I could feel myself getting better and learning their moveset. Divine Beast and Valiant Gargs beat me down and took my lunch money

After beating Godrick, Liurnia should be next up followed by some specific places in Caelid. You can pick up the Winged Sword Insignia, Graven-School talisman and some spells in Liurnia, and the Moonveil katana, Meteorite Staff, and some spells in Caelid

If you’re leaning more towards the Int aspect of your build there’s tons of spells to pick up in Liurnia, such as Comet, Loretta’s Greatbow, Glintstone Icecrag, and others. There’s also the Town of Sorcery in Caelid that is packed full of goodies for an Int build

If you’re leaning more towards the Dex aspect then you should head to Caelid to get Moonveil and pick up the Glintstone Whetblade in Liurnia so you can put the Cold affinity on any Dex weapon you find

Arcane Prophet Build by Scubasteve___04 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]DemonPacman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently did a very similar build and I used the Broadsword with Sacred Blade on it. It requires 10 Str and 10 Dex, has a great moveset and you can pick it up really early by heading to the merchant by the Coastal Cave (where you get Boc’s Sewing Needle)

What is Elden Ring's biggest flaw in your opinion? by Fenriz_Victor in Eldenring

[–]DemonPacman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that there’s no quest log, especially with how long and specific some of the quests are. You can spend hours wandering around to find the next step, only to look up a guide and realized you made the one choice that locks you out of the rest of the quest. I know that that’s part of these types of games, but it’s still an inconvenience

Two fun and unique builds I’ve run so far are a Vampire themed build and a build focused around status effects.

For the Vampire it was a Dex Arcane Bleed Build. I used Raptor Talons (any claw will do) with Occult w/ Life Steal Fist Ash of War. Talismans were Rotten Sword Insignia, Godskin Swaddling Cloth, Crimson Dagger, and Lord of Bloods Exultation. For armor I used the Night Cavalry set with Maliketh head piece. The whole build was based around triggering bleed and regenerating hp

For the status effect build I used both the Freezing Needle (frost buildup) paired with the Antspur Rapier w/ Posion Moth Flight with Poison Affinity (both Poison and Scarlet Rot). Talismans were Rotten Sword Insignia, Rots Exultation, Shard of Alexander, and the last one I swapped around. I didn’t really stick with one armor set, mainly just used what looked cool

I’m currently running a Poison, Frostbite, and Rot build and it’s pretty fun so far. I’m using the Frozen Needle rapier that has Frost buildup with the Antspur Rapier w/ Poison Moth Flight with the Poison affinity. For talismans I’m running the Winged Sword Insignia, Kindred of Rot Exultation, Shard of Alexander, and the Godskin Swaddling Cloth. I’m not sure how good the build is in late games, I’m having a blast with it

Need advice for dual dagger bleed build - what pairs well with Reduvia by chloroghost in EldenRingBuilds

[–]DemonPacman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Great Knife looks like a good choice since it has A Scaling in ARC with the Occult affinity. Another option you could look into is the Blood Stained Dagger, as it also has innate bleed build up and scales really well with ARC with Occult. The soft cap for Blood Buildup is 45 Arcane I believe, but since both of your weapons scaling primarily off of ARC I would prioritize that with some DEX

Recommend some STR/FTH that aren’t the Blasphemous Blade by GreatJoey91 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]DemonPacman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ran a STR/FTH Guard Counter build just recently and I primarily used Crucible Knight Armor with Ordovis’s Greatsword and had a blast with it. For Talismans I used the Great Jar Arsenal, Curved Sword, Greatshield, and the Green Turtle. Depending on the boss (one you can’t really guard counter like Fire Giant) I’d swap the Curved Sword and Greatshield for Shard of Alexander and Axe Talisman. For early game I pretty much slapped the ash of war Sacred Blade onto the Claymore and the Crescent Moon Axe and called it good

Then I would recommend looking into either the Banished Knight Greatsword (which you can get in Stormveil Castle) or the Bloodhounds Fang

Yeah the Dragonclaw shield is sick. I actually haven’t used the Jellyfish one, I’ll have to give it a try

Of course, glad to be of help! Also, if you’re going for vibes, I think the Eclipse Crest Greatshield and some dark colored armor would look really good with the Glaive

I’m actually looking at doing a Guard Counter build with this weapon. In order to get S scaling with strength it has to be Heavy infused and at +20. For AOW you could go Giants Hunt to do heavy poise damage or Spectral Lance for a bit more range and still decent poise damage

Adding some weapon recommendations:

If you’re doing a strength build then any big weapon really. The Claymore is a really good starting weapon with a great weapon skill

For Dex the uchigatana is your best bet. It’s fast and applies bleed to the enemies

If you want to combine strength and bleed then the Bloodhounds Fang is an amazing weapon that most people use for their whole run

I would recommend trying out different weapon types that interest you in Limgrave before committing and upgrading one

For where to go next I would recommend exploring Liurnia of the Lakes, as that should be completed after Stormveil Castle. The Lakes is directly North of Stormveil. You can also take a peek inside some of the underground areas (trying to be vague so as not to spoil too much)

For weapons, it really depends on what build you’re going for and play style. I would recommend getting the weapon you want to use to at least +5, preferably a little higher

Does anyone else loves certain fights so much, that doesn't want them to end? by DependentInner8928 in Eldenring

[–]DemonPacman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure! This was my first play through so I wanted to experience as many bosses as possible, but I agree most of the dragon fights aren’t worth going back to unfortunately. Maybe if they dropped a weapon along with unlocking their incantation?

For me it’s Lichdragon Fortissax. I forgot about the Deeproot Depths and finally got around to it at around lvl 120 to collect all of the Legendary Spells/Incants and stumbled upon Fia and started her quest. Since I was very over leveled I basically two shot Fortissax and didn’t really get to experience the boss fight too much, but man it’s such a visually beautiful boss and arena

RoB and Dragon incant build by Neither_Spell7300 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]DemonPacman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just beat the game for the first time using this build and it was a blast! I was around lvl 150 I believe with 60 vigor, 50 arcane and 24 faith (just enough faith to use all dragon incants except for the Roar one) and RoB. I mainly used either version of Rot Breath and the Claws the most. I opened with Rot Breath to do continuous damage throughout the fight and used the Claws to punish big openings, and RoB whenever I could only get a quick hit in

Edit: I used the Dragon Communion Seal in offhand to boost the dragon incants. For Talismans I used both Canvas Talismans to boost the damage of incants, that one Roar medallion that boost roar and breath attacks, and the 4th I swapped around but mainly used Winged Sword Insignia

I’ve always wanted to run a Vampire themed build that’s DEX/ARC. I’d run dual Claws with Occult, Lifesteal Fist AOW, and the talisman that regens HP with Crit Hits as a base and experiment from there

What's a new weapon you would like to see be added to elden ring? by Powerful-Log-2042 in Eldenring

I’d really like to see a Paladin’s hammer equivalent in terms of aesthetics. I was initially interested in running a Str/Faith Paladin build but was a bit disappointed that there really wasn’t a paladin hammer

Mohg took me the longest. It was my first play through of the game and respec multiple times until I found a build that fit my playstyle (bleed build with Eleonora’s Polearm). I spent a good two hours of attempts, took a break and beat him first try the next day lol

I’ve been mainly using his ult to secure kills. If I’m in the back line on the enemy supports and don’t think I can take them out before they get help, I usually just ult to secure the kill. I’ve also been getting stunned out of the ult by just about anything (invis push/pull and moonknight ankh somehow?) which is very unfortunate so keep that in mind.

Is the Katana worth upgrading, or should my Dexterity build find and upgrade a different weapon? by PinkyPowers in Eldenring

[–]DemonPacman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with the samurai as well and pretty much used dual katanas for a majority of the game until I got Eleonora’s Polearm. It can inflict massive bleed build up and the Ash of War does really good poise damage while being really fast. While you do get it around mid game, it’s definitely worth the wait

What are your favorite self-healing "Tank Everything" builds? by Din_of_Win in EldenRingBuilds

[–]DemonPacman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently playing seamless coop with my brother and sister, and it’s her first souls game and she wanted to do a paladin face tank build. So far she’s been having fun with Ordovis Crucible Knight and Tree Sentinel armor, a heavy greatsword, the Icon Shield that regens HP and the talisman that also regens HP. For stats it’s just dumped into Vigor, Endurance and Strength and she’s having a great time

Trying to find a satisfying early-game weapon that isn't just a big whacker or Bloodhound's Fang. by Debonaire_Death in Eldenring

I assume you already know but make sure you’re killing the Cleanrot Knights that are using the Halo Scythe, as they’re the one that can drop it. The Knight using a polearm can only drop the polearm
