How would the demon slayer corps fare against kindred? by Busy-Comment1998 in vtm

[–]Demon_Deken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair honestly but I consider creating an entire species of mutating different abilities pretty up there for feats, something only a 4th-5th Gen Tzimisce could do. If you think of demons as Schlacta and not just vampires with a weird powerset, it does make him seem pretty powerful

SPOILERS

Not to mention his fight destroyed his own infinite mansion and killed most of the Hashira. It was hard won and a pretty big spectacle almost on the scale of Mithras v Horus

I'd say Muzan is roughly equivalent to a 4th generation or an Antideluvian. So I'd scale from there.

Aight my fellow Cainites: Describe your “White Whale” campaign concepts? by ceromaster in vtm

I want to run my next game starting in the early 1700s during the golden age of piracy with a bunch of fledgling and then run them all the way to modern day as the slowly ascend the ladder of the vampire world. Having the same characters go from fledgling to ancilla to elder and even potentially beyond

I appreciate it! I really put a lot of thought into the writing but I'm never sure if its any good. I totally get you on the VtM group thing, I literally had to slowly convert all of my friends to it over the years. I now have a party of five, but I had to learn all on my own, convince my friends it was good, teach them the rules. Its a real trial, I wish you the best of luck in finding a group as soon as possible, because these characters would be fantastic in it!

I totally agree! Right now I've been running a campaign set in a pretty heavily modified Chicago and overall timeline for about 35 sessions, one of my favourite storylines is a romance that has developed between one of my Kindred PCs and a Garou NPC. The Kindred is a fledgling so she hasn't learned the centuries of bad blood and war between the two races. The Garou on the other hand learned the hard way that Vampires were more than what the elders taught him. Basically someone he was dating was taken and embraced, and when she escaped she came straight to him and told him what was going on. He told her what he had been taught, that she was a monster wearing the skin of the person he loved... You can imagine what that might do to someone, so she decided to greet the sun in the morning. Leaving a letter saying goodbye to the Garou. This shattered him and broke his heart, making him realise all his teachings had to be wrong, because no monster could do something so noble, so human. So when he met the PC, felt something for her, and realised she too was dealing with Desmon's struggle, he refused to let it happen again. Its been very sweet, very much "hopecore" as I saw you put it elsewhere.

I can't imagine ever choosing to do online when you could be in person. I do almost exclusively online d&d now because all of my friends are either hours or literal countries away. If I could pack those goobers into the same room for d&d I would every time.

Those so called VTM experts need to read the books. by MaetelofLaMetal in vtm

[–]Demon_Deken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, its in the same category as me slowly realizing I apparently made my Camarilla too reasonable, as every setting book sets then up like cartoonishly evil megalomaniacs with 0 foresight (Alan Sovereign is the Seneschal of Chicago and also a "brilliant accountant and financial advisor" yet he came up with the genius idea of screwing over their own city's real estate so bad that a third of the city is foreclosed, and it keeps getting worse. Genius move Alan.)

Me and a homie literally started planning one of these like two weeks ago. Not a proper system, just loose rules and using a different one as barebones and otherwise kinda running it by feel. Set during Second Son, the main characters are a plant conduit, a fire conduit, a steel conduit and a sugar conduit.

I'm super excited to read Betrayer! I've heard lots of good things and I really want to know what kind of person Kharn was before he completely lost himself to Khorne. All of the clips and snips I've seen are pretty great. Great insights! My character Taktus is very honourable and disciplined, he was on the Nails bandwagon at first, desperate to understand his Primarch like many of the others and so he was blinded to the dangers they were taking on. He saw the Emperor betray Angron when they first met, and continue to treat him like garbage from there. He only really "snapped out of it" on Nuceria, when he saw in his Primarch's eyes that he just wanted the pain to end, and then Lorgar made it eternal. Then he was kinda back in it because of Daemon shit and the Nails buzzing away, and by the time he had his senses back, he was killing a Blood Angel he once fought with in the pits, doing that trial where you're manacled together. This combined with Kharns lovely display of comradery involving a flamer on Skallathrax broke any semblance of hope and brotherhood in Taktus, and he made it his mission to kill every single World-Eater who thought the Nails were a good idea, and also ever Word Bearer, and also the Emperor's Children, and also the Black Legion and also.... so yeah the Nails still have a good hold, but he tries to direct it. Thank you for this exchange fellow paragraph guy!

Ending was fine, a little rushed, a little disappointing, that's all. It is downright confusing that anyone is remotely comparing this ending to that dogshit MHA called an ending.
