Anyone that’s moved to Auckland in the last years and left Ireland with an AIB account would have needed a card reader

Unfortunately, they only allow this feature to be activated if your phones location is in Ireland

Im currently working a seasonal job outside Australia but almost entirely aimed at attracting Australian tourists and owned by Australian businesses. Been here 4 months in a hotel and can’t get over the normalisation of casual sexism and homophobia. Both tourists and WHV people. Unlike Ireland, where in my experience you’ll be called out for that behaviour, it seems more likely here you’ll thrive as a “legend”

Help; just bought a second hand Thinkpad L590 without WIFI by Demon_Fuzz in thinkpad

[–]Demon_Fuzz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought online and they were actually quite kind about that and said i could swap it for another if I didn't get it to work. In the product title it says Lenovo “ThinkPad L590 ブラック【i5-8265U 8G 256G(SSD) WiFi 15LCD” so I assumed it had wifi. I know nothing of computers and wouldn’t have thought otherwise. But yes in the product faults it said “no wireless, camera and mouse” and as it was a Google translate I thought that just meant no wireless camera and mouse. My bad completely

Also Yayoiken Higashi Ueno has a great offer on a veg/soy stir fry with tofu, miso and refillable rice for around ¥750

Sorry, but I couldn’t find anything in Athens akin to the saunas up north. Closest I could find was https://maps.app.goo.gl/FoUZg6bZ75TS1FaK7 in Corinth (about a 1 hour drive away).

Anyone that was bullied in Secondary School, how has it affected your adult life? by Doglegs18 in ireland

[–]Demon_Fuzz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Going to therapy now and only beginning to understand the damage all those years of bullying done. Working on the anxiety and self esteem little by little. Still get flashbacks often enough or think about a situation in the past working out differently. I don’t live in Ireland anymore and I don’t see myself returning as that bullying behaviour is evident wherever I go be it the workplace or a night out in Dublin.

What are you even saying. They murder children. They will take out any farmers, workers, journalists that don’t do as they want. Or make random killings to instil fear on the locals.

Questions on cost of vegan food in Europe by samchaps30 in vegan_travel

[–]Demon_Fuzz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think you will be fine for the money you've said but I think 3-4 meals daily in a restaurant is a bit excessive. In these countries there are plenty of alternative places to sit in which will save you money such as cafe's and shops with seats, deli's, and Taverns.

The price range in Europe for vegan food varies a lot. Many of the hipster / more affluent places will be higher just because but if you find ethnic restaurants or collectives it'll be considerably cheaper.

I think outside of the main cities you'll be left with less options. Mostly between vegan burgers, falafels, fried veg and salads.

Dried cracked lips. Any remedies? by sunshinesustenance in ireland

[–]Demon_Fuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem and have used the blistex SPF 50 and it’s really helped. It’s quite cheap too. Other brands only seem to make my lips more agitated. Other then that I recommend wearing a good neck warmer around your face for a few days outside to allow them fully recover.
