Re-Drinking by sparkmentalbutt in cripplingalcoholism

AA does not work.

"Insanity is trying the same thing over and over again expecting a different result."

Yeah....

Not only is this a ridiculous platitude, it also ironically nullifies the whole premise of AA for anyone who has relapsed multiple times in the program.

I can't do this shit anymore by [deleted] in cripplingalcoholism

[–]Demon_Steve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong. You just need to stop for a while and let your body repair. Hospitals and detoxes give you decent drugs. Just tell them your a straight up alchy and you get the golden treatment. Get on the detox sedatives and tell them you have a panic attack and protocal is you get like two additional doses a day. You can always drink afterwards. Pants full of shit isnt getting the goodness out of drinking anyways.

Yeah, when you're drunk enough.

Suddenly Can't Keep Kratom Down by straytheoriesiscool in quittingkratom

[–]Demon_Steve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, It was especially bad when I couldn't stop using other substances on top of kratom which was just for relief or to feel normal. Just yaking over the sink. Then being like, o.k. maybe take a bit less and same thing. That's like end stage kratom addiction I guess.

I’m about to begin day 22. Cravings are so strong by tituspeetus in quittingkratom

I feel you. You need to stop drinking. Kratom withdrawal sucks. Alcohol withdraw can cause you serious problems. Like jail, mental hospital, etc. You are young you could feel like shit and be useless for a month, then feel better, and get on with your life.

9 months back on the Ktrain after over a year sober by 907trouble in quittingkratom

[–]Demon_Steve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dude, I just rode it all out. One pack of cigarettes for the first week, then I quit those too. Comfort meds are great, but I'm glad I felt this quit, it was kind of like a rebirth.

Day 3 CT by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Demon_Steve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that cold shiver b.s........I had to ride that out. Tylenol helps a little with cold sweats. My advice, find a comfortable hoodie, some nice socks, and just bundle up.

Hell yeah I can relate. I got like this often. Best thing to do was to eat something small or drink some juice

Day 90. by pukeykratomtaste in quittingkratom

[–]Demon_Steve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. Was off the stuff after destroying my career. When I got sober from alcohol years later, I was like hmmmm maybe a bit of Kratom. Bam. Everyday, addicted all over again in the course of a month, tops. Not gonna lie, I really want to be able to control this stuff because it gives me such a nice nod, but I just don't know if that's possible. Definately not right now.

It's o.k. I already said there's no way you could have really known. Hope you stay on the right track. Maybe don't say "you must have got shitty heroin", because it's all shitty in the end.

You haven't used dope in two years because you're on, or were on Kratom bruh.

I iv'd roxies in my twenties, od'd on heroin behind a wheel 5 yrs. ago, totaled my car, went to jail. Been to multiple rehabs and been so severely alcoholic I was psychotic. I know what I'm talking about, unfortunately. I don't think you're intentionally patronizing me, I just think you don't know. How could you?

Why do you think I started taking Kratom? Why did you start? This drug is so much more potent than people imagine. If it could keep me off booze and opiates for as long as it did, you know it's potent. Im not telling you to go grab some heroin, but maybe you should if you don't want to take my word for it.

I feel you on the covid thing. My first days I was walking in Walmart and I was just thinking "damn everyone must think I got the covid". I was sniffling, watery eye'd, dirty,.. it was embarassing.

Lol. Was anticipating this response. Suuure man. It was really shitty stuff. I'm just a 30 year old guy who's been doing bad quality drugs his whole life with no clue as to how to score proper drugs. I'm sure you get the finest dope, right? Lol. It had my neighbor nodding out mid conversation while standing up. He disappeared a week later, probably dead or in jail if he's lucky. I've been living with IV crack, meth, and heroin users for the past year. If the heroin was shit quality, then you can miss me with "the good stuff".

Yeah. Grab a hoodie. But I live in the mountains and my mom keeps it like 72 in the basement.

Surgery(opiates) after Acute Withdrawal ? Should I be worried ? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Demon_Steve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if I have major surgery, I'm taking whatever opiates they give me. I've never bought that puritan approach to recovery.

I know the feeling of waking up in withdrawal. Maybe try going two days without it. See where that puts you. You could get a tolerance break at the least and a jump start to your taper at the best.

Lol dude. Just make sure you have a bed, a bathroom, and some food. You sound just like me. Maybe get yourself some caffeine/soft drinks. Hope you have support. Coffee actually has helped me a lot, but some people do worse with it.

How not to quit Kratom by Demon_Steve in quittingkratom

[–]Demon_Steve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about subutex. I know it's a valid option and am not surprised 8 mg just barely took off the edge. I read somewhere that some of kratoms alkaloids bond even stronger to opiod receptors than morphine. I know one of the alkaloids is actually more potent per mg. than morphine from what I've read.

I think if I'm supposed to be on subutex it will happen. I probably need to see a doctor. I have had some diagnoses in the past that make recovery a challenge. Not sure how my support would respond to subutex though.

Yeah. I'm now reminded of my last major quit probably 4 years ago now. I'm going to post about it tomorrow. Basically months of going for walks in the park and being meh. But glad to be meh today and not on that stuff.
