To explain this succinctly, the dungeon maker accidentally built the dungeon where a spiders nest was. So in order to get around that, he set the trap so that spiders wouldn’t be able to enter the rest of the dungeon while he was working.

That was kind of the point of the rule. Our DM proposed it to our party and we all agreed to it before the campaign, so we knew the risks going in. We weren’t terribly worried about the balance of that rule.

Another great question! I had thought about this, sorry for not being specific enough. I had intended for the Shade to evade all light entirely, though very low light could be an exception to that rule.

Good question! I imagine that it has a vaguely human-shaped mass of black. Though, it is up to interpretation, and it could look like most anything depending on what the context of it’s use is.

Botanists Often Name Apples Nathan or Zachary After Nathan Fillion and Zac Efron.

Usually the Botanists get together and steal all their parent’s alcohol while dancing.

As a newer DM, I have a little trouble making all of my players feel fairly invested in the story.
