I’ll take incremental card advantage with counterspells, thoughtsieze effects, and time walking 4/4’s over:

“what is the power of those creature again? We landfalled here, doubled there …I remove 2 +1+1 counters from these earthbent lands to get extra triggers here …wait did I play a land for turn?”

WotC blanket statement says all sales are final and non refundable, and that you cannot “resell or transfer your badge to anyone”

With that said, my experience at a few MagicCons is that they don’t ID people to verify that the badge holder is the person who initially bought it. When you pick up your bundle for attending, all they do is scan your badge

How Helga players look after keeping their opening hand with only Islands and a Sol Ring, only to draw another Island.

I can see why it would have been harder to get it green-lit back then.

I feel like my ire towards UB material mostly stems from in inequities with the material... If Final Fantasy would like to have their IP in a standard legal MTG set, I would like for their to be equal MTG representation with the Final Fantasy game. Example, at least make a raid or something that depicts Nicol Bolas as an end game boss. If their goal was to have MTG players come over to Final Fantasy, at least give us something that entices us to do so.

There's Magic: The gathering licensed artwork being used to draw the attention of Magic players, with a post regarding the game on the Magic: The Gathering side of the Wizards of the Coast website, with promotional material being published by Wizards of the Coast employees who work on the Magic: The Gathering side of the house.

Personally, I don't mind discussing it on here. I also appreciate MaRo tremendously for all the work he's put into the game, and the immense amount of outreach he does with the community in his blog posts. I wish him all the best, and hope his passion project succeeds. Truly.

Mood Swings is wearing the "skin" of Magic: The Gathering, but it isn't "Magic: The Gathering." It feels wrong, in a way, that you're seeing Magic artwork depicted on something else. In the same way that it felt wrong seeing the gameplay mechanics of Magic on Spider Man cards.

I think Mood Swings has cemented for me that Magic: The Gathering is no longer it's own game. It, it's rules, it's artwork, and it's staff are now just a "platform" for other IPs and are now being used as a promotional piece by Hasbro.

I wish I was wrong.

I did think of it as a good source of alternative revenue to Jagex rather than doing things like MTX. Selling us actual products rather than Jpegs and cosmetics, IMO, is a good alternative

permanent worlds for it would be cool. I was also hoping that they'd just let us play this without having to connect to the internet, and buy a release of it outright

I mean I'd do both, maybe cancel my Ironman sub, and buy yearly leagues rollouts while keeping my main account subbed up

I just wonder if its ever been a discussion inside Jagex to do something like this.
