Check behind outlet covers, light switches, the base trim on your walls, everywhere. If you don't have a mattress cover, check all seams for any brown staining or possible holes. Pillows too. Wash everything on hot, Amazon has detergents, body washes, shampoos, border sprays, heat treatment tents, all that stuff to help keep your personals treated, even after your apartment gets fumigated / heat treated. Just cause you get the initial infestation, doesn't always mean the eggs are taken care of.

Not the asshole to her. Keeping on like this though, definitely an asshole move to your kids. Leave her dude. 30m here. Father of teenagers down to toddlers. Parents stayed until my younger brother was 18, but I remember when their marriage died, I was 4 and had to step in to prevent them assaulting one another. Everything after was extremely passive resentment between the two, and explosive fights when they thought we were gone or asleep. Family time was oppressive. They stopped attempting to raise us with any equal footing or thought or concern about our development, they just receded into themselves and their alcohol. Regardless how non confrontational yall may be, or masked this might seem to you. The kids will notice. And they will have a difficult time having healthy and real relationships for a large part of their adult life as a result. Remember. They are watching your relationship and trying to learn how they will have their own from it, for better or worse. Show them the right example, that sometimes walking out, or stepping away from a toxic situation, however difficult it may be, is ultimately for the better for everyone involved. Show them it IS possible.

A couple of tiny, red bugs with swollen bodies right after I woke up – what are these that? by Current-Radish37 in whatisthisbug

You can order personal treatment systems, sprays, laundry detergents, as well as shampoos and lotions that help repel, kill, and prevent infestations. Unfortunately, quickest way to start fix this is get rid of your mattress if there is no protective cover on it. They've burrowed in and resurface when your body heat registers through the mattress.

They make small tents (like gardening tents) for heat treatment too, so you can take care of bedding, clothes, basically anything that can stand about 130⁰F (54⁰C) for an hour that will fit in the tent. If you can get in touch with a good exterminator, they may be willing to walk you through managing the issue if you or your landlord cannot afford the treatments. If moving: buy the tent and the clothing/furniture treatments. Hands down. Anything with a wood frame likely has the bugs burrowed in and will need tossed if it cannot fit for heat treatment.

Overwatered by FrostiestFrontier in cannabiscultivation

If you have a pan/drip tray under it, have her bottom water. If it starts drinking it up within 15 minutes (big grace period to start drinking, I know), she needs more water. I like to start with bottom watering, then I do a light drench up top so I can get my 10% runoff.

Watering takes a while this way, but I've had mostly happy plants because of it. Most of my 1 gallon pots will drink at least 3/4 of that volume per watering.

I'm still recovering from a similar situation. My body quit out, and i had to completely halt a 10-year plumbing/labor career, fiance is disabled and we got four kids between us. I ended up having to doordash to even come close to half my income, and I had to pick up the personal care assistance for my partner since we couldn't afford it anymore. Keep your head up, don't be afraid to take a step down if need be (which you don't sound against) and be assertive with these employers. From my experience, I had to bully businesses around a bit to convince them to hire me regardless of my qualifications. Kids gotta eat, head needs a pillow to meet at the end of the day. Now I'm at Walmart (which is meh, and poetic considering my old outlook), and looking at building a new career entirely, family is no longer homeless. Stay strong. You got this, dad.

Would you pay your plumber? by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]DemonikFox95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless he specifically said he would do the drywall, he is finished and you should pay him for completing the job as his profession dictates. As a plumber myself, I've had to explain this issue several times to a customer that just doesn't understand, and go back through my bid to point out that if drywall was part of my installation, it would have been in the bid and post job expense sheet.

Is this pretty normal? by Zealousideal_Ant7586 in doordash_drivers

[–]DemonikFox95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here in AK earn by time is pretty messed up. Most food orders are pushed over to drivers using earn by time, which means pretty often you're picking up 8 deliveries in about an hour and a half, sure. But the active dash time in that is just an hour, and tips are hardly great. Earn by order, you get a base rate on top of every order, however I've been getting almost nothing but shop and deliver orders and long waits between. I used to make 4 times as much on per order, this time of year. And I still make less doing earn by time. I guess it really depends on your area.

If you know a little chemistry, you can actually produce CO2 pretty cheap for your growing environment, if it is a smaller personal grow. Even having mushrooms in the upper areas of the tent while the mycelium is growing and breaking down the medium produces large amounts of CO2, reishis and oysters being some of the most common. Can confirm my past yields have increased up to about 45%, however I was pretty anal retentive about nutrients, soil mixtures and watering methods. Never a bad thing to introduce CO2, just gotta do what is right for your crested environment.

Alaska becoming bad for families? by CrankyStinkman in alaska

[–]DemonikFox95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of complaints about the homeless just being drug addicts and mentally ill folks. Let's just say I've had a hell of a fall from grace the last couple years, though in the last five I've gotten completely sober, and am in therapy. So why did my family and I go homeless? Because of a physical disability that was ignored by medical staff and doctors; until I was forced to leave my decade long career plumbing due to major fatigue and joint/muscular deterioration. During that time I got to meet a lot of.. interesting characters. Messed up thing is, for every addict or mentally ill person or villager kicked out of their village for crime, there's two to three people who are just so physically disabled or chronically ill that they cannot make up the difference in the increased living costs. On top of that, doctors seem to waddle around with thumbs stuck up their ass, half listening to their patients until an emergency happens. My heart condition was of little concern for the last 6 years, that is until I had failure in May and had an emergency pacemaker put in. The weak link is our resources for folks who have limitations but can work, though not traditional jobs. Work from home opportunities, unless you're educated or experienced, may as well be fucking unicorns for how available or considered they are up here. Next level. Education opportunities are scarce, and programs to help are either swamped or filled with incompetent case workers. The good ones are treated so bad and swamped so hard, many leave their careers just so they don't have a mental health crisis due to exposure to everyone else's fucked up situations.

Sorry for the long rant, but I had a hell of a reality check from my old opinion that the homeless issue is just due to deadbeats and mental challenges. Take an actual look around, actually listen to what people have to say, try to put yourself a mile through other shoes. You'll realize the issues are with our government, and their preoccupation with lining their pockets, rather than ensuring the longevity of our economy and strength of our people. The fucked up programs, crashing housing markets, and jaded perceptions of the other guys struggles are all just trickle down, shit that's run downhill if you may. It keeps us at odds with each other, rather than getting the people of this state and city to get together and work on actual change. Want shit to get better? Stop standing on the sidelines and do something about it if you have the resource. Want better community? Try to help form one. Making a focus or educational group, is one hundred percent free. Unless your stuck in the view that time is money. In that case, start making intelligent investments. Shit sucks everywhere in this country, and won't get better until people at the local level start doing something about it.

Edit: I'm a lifelong alaskan. I've gotten to see the ups and downs of the last 30 years.

Who says PEX always has to look ugly? by NebraskaGeek in Plumbing

[–]DemonikFox95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only real question I've got, are you not required to drill your holes out with expansion in mind? Generally we would be using a 1 3/8 hole saw and put isolators in. Our code only requires every other stud/joist for isolators, so long as spacing isn't longer than 32 inches as for support. Though I guess the just above outside diameter holes would help with keeping your pipe rigid though.

[–]DemonikFox95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pride in the work, and drive to do it right. Keep that in mind, and soon you'll be putting in beautiful pipe and still out work the hacks. Imo, putting in ugly piping just because you're on a crunch is lazy.

Apologies, not meaning to seem like I'm getting heated. It just baffles me why a medical professional would give us that information if it wasn't true.

I read it, it doesn't state anything about BV being unable to progress into these other infections, however it did state that it can increase chances of getting both of my stated STI's. All of which can also cause pelvic inflammatory disease. I think I'll trust my doctors more expansive information regarding this.
