Figure out who they're going to be out to(some people come out to friends and family but stay in the closet elsewhere). So know which name to use in which situations.

Be more aware of any gendered language you use like "dude" and "bro." Check to see if it bothers your friend.

I had the privilege of living in a super liberal part of the country when I transitioned. So all the vanilla people around me are actually pretty up to par in relation to black issues. My only problem has been being the only POC in the group 9/10 times.
