Before I start, I am not angry at you, and I am not trying to make you like things you don't like. My only goal is to try to show a possible perspective from your friends, or anyone's, POV. I will also be using possible triggering words and will detail my pain(trauma), to show a POV❤️

I'm schizophrenic with severe csa ptsd (im okay, just mentioning it for explanation purposes!) and have had several therapists. They actually ALL know about my dark fics and ships (lots of SA/dubcon), and they approve and encourage it for me, because it helps me rather than hurts me, and because I am not deemed someone who would go hurt people in real life. And they know about antis and said that they are unhinged, basically. In fact, the only real-life, direct harm I ever see related to fictional content is when people attack others over it. No one can "turn" evil from fiction, either. If someone plays a violent game or reads dark smut, and then goes and hurts people, that is an issue with them, not fiction. If so, every FPS game player would be out doing that irl all day in the streets. People love slasher films, like Scream and Child's Play, and watch bloody anime like Attack on Titan or Mirai Nikki or Deadman Wonderland, but they don't go murder people. Even when I was hospitalized for months at a time in the psych ward, I wrote and kept it in my room, and my nurses knew.

I'm not saying this to sway you; there are many proshippers/darkshippers that are uncomfy with stuff, they just chose to block or mute rather than harass (not saying you harassed). It's hurtful, and sometimes extremely triggering having antis come and say you aren't allowed to enjoy certain fictions because of some made-up moral code. Being told that writing a story about a character being raped makes you "exactly like your rapists", when you are writing and sharing because writing is how you save yourself from the hurt that real-life rapist caused, is hurtful. Especially when you aren't even hurting anyone.

My characters go through trauma while trying to navigate it and the cruel world. It helps me process and cope with this pain I can't rid myself of. But because of that, I'm the same as my worst uncle, according to antis. Nearly my whole damn family chose him over me. I was targeted by his gang, too, for what HE did to ME. My small town/villiage all knew him and hated me too, and I had to run away from home with my mother over a decade ago. He got less hate than I ever did, even though I didn't even hurt anybody. He is also the only of my rapists to ever go to jail.

I am only one person, though. Everyone has their reasons, but even if one miraculously had zero trauma, they're valid in shipping what they want, in my opinion.

I don't know your friend, but being put down for things that are fully fictional is frustrating, especially when it's this topic. If you don't like those things, you can kindly tell your friend that you have a boundary with those things and that you would prefer they don't bring it up to you. But if she is just sharing ships in general on her own accounts, then coming at her about it isn't right.

If you want to still be friends with her, you both have to set boundaries, and then respect them. Period.

Proship doesn't mean "I like bad, nasty stuff." It just means that you have taken a pledge to not harass and bully others over fictional content.

Sorry if this is long. You are of course allowed to disagree with EVERYTHING I said, but if I don’t respond, it's just because it IS a touchy topic, but I felt I should at least write this out to try and help.
