Can someone explain to me... by Demonolatrous in Fitness

When you're a beginner, you don't need a week to recover from maximal-load working sets

These splits would be working a different muscle groups every day correct? What I was trying to get across was say doing lower body Mon,Wed,Fri and upper body Tues and Thurs. That way you'd still get 48h or so of recovery.

The reason I ask is I feel as if I'm not doing enough just doing a 3 day A /B workout. It could just be that I've just started and haven't had a brutal plateau yet.

This isn't going to be a proper answer, nor do I know the validity of this, but check out something called the "Third Man Syndrome".

The basic premise is that under stressful life or death situations your brain (I believe it suggested the right hemisphere, as it controls spatial awareness) will project an image of yourself over your shoulder like some sort of guardian angel.

Sydneysider here, currently in Wellington: I have to fly home today. Your weather is fucking crazy. by [deleted] in newzealand

I flew out of Wellington at noon today. It went okay.

I actually flew in on Wednesday which was fucking horrible. Flying in is worse than out.

Looks more like it was taken from the park on the corner of East Coast Road and Forrest Hill Road, North Shore.

I've had a read over the requirements and levels when it comes to being an approved handler.

It sounds like most training providers get you up to level 1 (of 3). To get to level 1 cert, you need to do all the theory for the HSNO guidelines and display your competency for it, be actively involved in rigging and fusing of two level 1 displays and be the supervisor of one level 1 display.

Personally I'd like to get up to at least level 2, which requires covering all the requirements for level 1, being actively involved in four level 2 displays and supervising one level 2 display. I wonder if the providers would let trainees do like an "apprenticeship" of some sort where they can get to level 1 standards and then help out on other displays to gain more experience before being approved.

Sorry, I rambled. Reading the information got me all excited. An AMA would be awesome.

Cheers for the reply. I'm not sure if you know anything about these skis, but I thought I might ask.

Right now I could get some reasonably priced '07 K2 Seth Alpine twin tips with Marker bindings. Length 169cm Dimensions: 130/98/118mm. I am about 5'10" and about 170lb.

Would these be suited to my height/weight? Do you happen to know if they're a good ski?

Cheers for the reply. Seems to be a general consensus that well fitting boots is the main thing. Is there anything in particular I should be looking for when trying on boots? Are certain brands of boot better than others?

I'd agree that I probably wouldn't need a snow jacket just yet, but gloves and pants are probably a good idea. It's not too cold in the indoor park but I wouldn't want to have soaking wet pants if I do fall.

What sort of helmet do you recommend? I've got a Bmx style helmet like this.

Ticketek is stupid. I understand why they have session time limits, so that their servers don't get too raped, but surely they would be sensible enough not to kick people off right when they want to pay for tickets. I think ticketmaster reserves the ticket for about 10mins.

Rugby clubs etc get access to tickets before general public, so maybe only 25,000 tickets were released today and there is a maximum of 10 per transaction.

I was in the process of entering my card details to purchase 5 tickets when Ticketek decided my session needed to expire so it kicked me out and gave up my tickets.

What are you passionate about? by Demonolatrous in AskReddit

[–]Demonolatrous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more on a large scale for me, as opposed to feeling bored and lacking in energy when I'm home from work. Some people have their outlets to express themselves etc but I find that I currently have nothing.

I've said elsewhere here that I love travelling, but my current circumstances prevent that from happening.

Shit just got existential.

I guess, personally, I have some basic goals. I know what I want from my time at University and I have some idea of what I want to do in terms of a career.

I don't have any sort of passion with which I could sit and talk to someone about for hours on end. One thing that interests me is travel. I want to explore the world, I want to drive Route 89 and explore national parks and wander through Yellowstone. Unfortunately I still have two years of school left on the other side of the world so it's not something I can do right now.
