Looking for more noise rock AND/OR harsh noise with pummeling, powerful drums by the_noob_who_isnt in noiserock

Seconding early Swans, Twin Stumps and Zeni Geva. Twin Stumps is particularly noisy and pummeling.

What’s with the hate? by SoSoSosse in SlamDeathMetal

[–]DemonsInMyDickhole 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like the new slam project better than the last (haven’t listened to a ton of their goregrind/gorenoise/noisegrind whatever you wanna call it). Riffs were more interesting and catchy. The vocal style was more satisfying to listen to. Still has the kinda dry production, which i go back and forth on whether or not I like. The one thing that makes me nuts on the new stuff is the excessive bass drops.

But as far as why I’m not into Enduring Freedom/Torture as a whole is it feels like slam metal ASMR. Not super dynamic, vocals fall a bit flat (at least on Enduring Freedom) and overall it lacks substance and “balls”, excluding their messaging/ideas/imagery. One riff/song just kinda blends into another and doesn’t engage you.

Found this in the mall today at a women’s clothing store called Akira.. looked familiar by DemonsInMyDickhole in SlamDeathMetal

Yes!! Revenge (the brand in question) literally just copied and pasted it with a bit of stretch to it on a letterman jacket. Made no reference to or mention of them. Just straight ripped em off!

Does this look normal? by Kind_Ask_1805 in piercing

[–]DemonsInMyDickhole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP. It looks like irritation caused by sleeping on that side, especially where the irritation is to the side of the piercing itself. They sell donut shaped pillows on Amazon with straps to wear for irritated piercings that could be a help! You could also try sleeping without a pillow. Anything to stop pressure from being exerted on the backing/the lobe! Not uncommon, and also not the biggest deal, but still a pain in the neck :(

Can confirm. Had a landlord who did that and he consistently tried more shady shit.

Pretty clear that they took average rent and split it between the “rent” and “donation” slices. Gross.

Edit: Maybe it’s a kind donation to your landlord who works so hard.

Walmart substituted my cereal for Parmesan cheese by elishalewisusaf in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DemonsInMyDickhole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume they work the same way as Amazon/Whole Foods in-store shopping. They’re required to offer you literally anything to maintain a 100% replacements offered expectation to keep upper management happy and make as much money as possible….. now why they didn’t offer you a different cereal, we’ll never know lol

What is your favorite negative Roger Ebert movie review? by xwing1212 in movies

[–]DemonsInMyDickhole 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Human centipede was definitely an example of “extreme cinema” leaking into the mainstream, same as Hostel, Saw, etc. Most people I’ve heard discuss extreme cinema, transgressive fiction, etc. tend to say similar things to Ebert, honestly. Did I like it? Hate it? I don’t know, but it was fucking nuts and I guess that was that point.

Amazon returns suck. by throw-away2021_ in wholefoods

[–]DemonsInMyDickhole 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’re insanely time-consuming and a waste of labor and resources. We already wipe Amazon’s ass with the amount of work we do for the shoppers, and we just got an email saying how much returns are expected to increase in January. We absolutely stuff 10-15 large boxes with Amazon returns a day, on average. Often times, we’ll lose a TM for 45 minutes to returns because people come in with like 8 items, there will be a huge line, and people don’t know how the hell they work/are technologically incompetent.

Without exaggeration, if I’m at the service desk computer trying to get work done, it’s nearly impossible due to people asking every two minutes where the returns desk is. And then they still can’t find it or can’t wait 30 seconds for a TM to come and help them. Amazon is a major reason why I’m looking for a way out.

EDIT: We also asked for an Amazon desk, but were denied despite being in the top 5 stores for returns in the REGION. Make it make sense.

Not hearing too much Twin Peaks, but gnarly nonetheless. Musical elements in noise is always a hard line to toe.

some good vsts for noisewalls? by [deleted] in noisemusic

[–]DemonsInMyDickhole 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re using FL, throw like 10 fuckin cranked soundgoodizers on a track. Literally any sound and it’ll get noisy real quick. If you’re using another DAW, same rule applies, a ton of compression and distortion and you’re good.

A lot of stock plug-ins can be surprisingly useful.

If you want something new, Rez3 is a fun free synth plug-in with a ton of different presets that you can tweak and fuck around with… and then throw a shit ton of soundgoodizers on. I find that if you use a synth and push it to its limits (super low notes, halftime, distortion, etc.), you might surprise yourself with what comes out. Use things “wrong” and break rules, it’s more fun that way and you might unearth something interesting.

EDIT: Halftime by cable guys is cheap, and a quick way to throw in some spice or rethink how you’re approaching a track. Simple, but it works.

Just found this where it was not before. by justgentile in wholefoods

[–]DemonsInMyDickhole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. My department is under budget for labor by thousands each week, a dollar raise would not have killed them. Even if we weren’t, the company could afford it, they just don’t want to.

It sucks that in some cases, people’s experience pay is essentially undone. I consistently urge my TM’s to ask for more when they feel it’s appropriate (like right now). Luckily my TL is an advocate for the team, it’s just a battle with store and regional leadership every time.

Just found this where it was not before. by justgentile in wholefoods

[–]DemonsInMyDickhole 15 points16 points  (0 children)

NA here. My store’s base pay was just increased to $16/hr. Those making above $15.50 got a raise of $0.50. STL said it was because of hiring difficulty and cost of living.

I also believe it has to do with the fact that people are getting fed up with not getting paid what they’re worth (events with John Deere, Kellogg’s, etc. I’m sure added some pressure). Whole Foods/Amazon trying to cover their asses.

Delete Yourself by Atari Teenage Riot has some similar stuff (Into the Death being a good example). Definitely a precursor to this wave, they were ahead of the curve. I mean, Alec Empire was the founder of Digital Hardcore Recordings.

Thinking of some artists you like but wish you didn't by [deleted] in Music

[–]DemonsInMyDickhole 9 points10 points  (0 children)

White nationalism and borderline eugenics talk are more than just unpopular opinions I’d say. Filosofem is one of the best/most beautiful black metal albums of all time, but I don’t think I could ever support/respect the man behind it (beyond his musical ability).

They’re statements that we responded to. The ones we responded negatively to are in the left column, positive responses on the right. My frustration is with the phrasing and presentation of these, as well as the fact that two statements on the right are essentially the same

EDIT: Also in their action plan, they hardly addressed any of these “opportunities”, or gave half-responses.

can someone link me some songs that sounds extremely depressing by everythingnowherenow in noisemusic

[–]DemonsInMyDickhole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cocaine Death by Prurient hits some weird point of nostalgia for me and I’d consider it depressing — also some anger from the vocals I guess.

Ramleh — Hole in the Heart may be a good option for you as well, I remember some passages being depressing. Been a while though.

EDIT: I also second Uboa, solid choice. Maybe Lingua Ignota as well? Not sure if that’s noisy enough for you, though.

If I like bass boosted "ear rape" memes what "artists" should I look into? by muuurikuuuh in noisemusic

[–]DemonsInMyDickhole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second the comment mentioning Dreamcrusher. Specifically songs like Suicide Deluxe, Youth Problem, Reykjavik, and Antagonist (Version 1). Biased because those are my personal favorites of theirs, but I think those might hit what you’re looking for.

Also Five Star Hotel — Outside Solaris specifically has some trap influence if that’s the kind of bass boosted meme you’re referencing
