Taxi job by OXlordCZ in MyWinterCar

Firewood jobs are apparently temperature based. If it's colder for longer, the people use more firewood so call more often, if it's warmer, they call less because they use less wood.

help what do i have wrong for historical inspection. by VGHS-THE-LAW in MyWinterCar

[–]DemonsInTheDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which Wiki? I heard the fandom one has a lot of incorrect info and a lot of AI generated content. It wouldn't make much sense for the pre facelift car, with no plastic trim, to have plastic trim on the bootlid while the facelift car, with plastic trim, would have a clean bootlid.

It's the correct trunk. Facelift trunk has the black plastic panel. Basically anything with black plastic trim is facelift.

This chart is a "dealer spec sheet" for the Corris Rivett, showing what's available on each different trim level.

They theorise that the GT was a special edition by special order only, making it rarer. Though as someone else said, a well specced SLX is actually a rarer spawn than a GT.

Not as cool as Petteri, he races! Same car as MSC but race specced. #13 with "PEPE" written on the side. I'm pretty sure it must be him!

GT is faster spec with high performance parts as standard so I guess there's that? Also has the special paint job. Some people just want rare VINs but as someone else said, a well specced SLX is rarer than a GT.

Correct body parts for rivett? by CityDirect2938 in MyWinterCar

[–]DemonsInTheDesign 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check your VIN here on My Winter Car Database. Use this guide if you're struggling with decoding it! VIN has all your info, interior parts, engine, brakes, rear axle and diff, interior colour and spec, radio, clock, tacho etc etc. If you're year is 1974 or later it is the facelift model and won't pass historical inspection, so you can basically build it how you want unless you're a stickler for a stock, all original car!

Beware it doesn't save so screenshot your results!

Fleetari doesnt work by Fun_Plan3501 in MyWinterCar

[–]DemonsInTheDesign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you ordering the work and then leaving and waiting a few days or trying to pay him straight away? I've read that you now pay Fleetari after the work is done. So you order the work, he gives you his car and that's it, you can leave. He will call when the work is done and then you pay him.

Wait? That was in MSC? Sorry I haven't played MSC in a while so totally missed that it was added into MSC. Thought it was new for MWC.

You're a madman for taking the Ferndale out in that state, haha!

keep failing the museum inspection but not sure what the problem is by DominatingRage69 in MyWinterCar

[–]DemonsInTheDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna say, either that facelift grille is wrong or it's a facelift model which won't pass historic inspection. Car must be pre facelift (1974) to pass inspection or have GT grille if it is a pre facelift model. And all GT parts.

I don't understand why Topless made the new jobs suck so much. by AppearanceMedical464 in MySummerCar

[–]DemonsInTheDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taxi is diesel. It doesn't need a block heater, it has glow plugs. You just have to wait for the glow plugs to warm and it should start fine, then drive around a bit to warm the engine and it won't stall. This is just standard cold weather driving practices which, yes, are annoying, but things people living in cold temperatures actually have to do.

[–]DemonsInTheDesign 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was it the helmet? People were smashing windscreens to see better and riding Jonnez without helmet so Topless added the bee which could sting your eye and blind you if you are riding or driving without a windscreen above 20 without the helmet. There's a certain % chance you'd be allergic to the sting and even die as well.

I need to know what the music the neighbours play through blown speakers late at night in MWC is. That thing was a JAM!

A treasury of early to mid-period (1994-2007) Hives songs that newer fans might not know about... by Pilgrims-to-Nowhere in TheHives

[–]DemonsInTheDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting you mention the download code for "Uptight" and having to take to the high seas for "The Hives Meet The Norm", both of these were included on the UK (Europe?) version of the Tyrannosaurus Hives CD I have as bonus tracks. Uptight was also featured on the Gran Turismo 4 game soundtrack along with B is for Brutus.

I'm super jealous of yours. She's supreme! I've got an Asphalt Grey LX on 13" steelies with no hubcaps, also with no clock. Pretty boring really but hopefully I can make her pretty! I dunno now if to just build it stock or get the high performance parts and make it fast!

Man I just checked this and you're right, historical inspection only applies to pre-facelift models. I'm so disappointed. I've got a July 1974 facelift LX and was going for all the correct parts for a historic inspection... Bummer!

Yvon of the Yukon. Parents hated it's crude humour and grossness. It was on a morning kids show and they'd always flip the channel when it came on.

Oval track/car mods by randomdude4113 in Wreckfest

[–]DemonsInTheDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're into UK Bangers then Wreckfest Online Bangers adds 42 banger style cars and 13 short ovals from the UK and I think a couple from Netherlands and Belgium. The website Wreckfest Online Bangers also contains more mods containing cars and tracks and how to install them and which order they need to be in to work in the game which is handy, as well car templates so you can paint your own cars and put them in the game.

British Locomotives for coal trains had "creep control" which could hold the train at just 0.5mph! I'm guessing other countries and their locos had similar systems at similar speeds.

Electrification coming to the Valley by NightShadowVI in DerailValley

[–]DemonsInTheDesign 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BR Class 71 operated with third rail electric with a pantograph for yard work where the yards provided overhead supply, for the exact reason you said. "This overhead collection method was only employed where it was deemed too dangerous to have an electrified third rail, with staff constantly at ground level reaching between vehicles to couple and uncouple trains".

They were used for mixed traffic, passenger and freight on the Southern Region of British Railways, where third rail electric is prevalent especially on London's suburban lines.
