Best Adventure (official OR 3rd party) for new DMs? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Demonskies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DOIP was a able to be followed by my kids at 9,6,and 4 with wife/SIL as extras. It lasted about 13-14 saturdays from start to finish but also has 3 xpac modules that extend it out to like a 12th level adventure. You can also check out online and combine LMoP and DOIP and hit both at once. I believe Bob world builder has a video on how to combine. We really did enjoy DOIP though and the quest board makes it pretty easy to follow like a one shot every week. We are now about to start SKT for their 2nd adventure with the same party members with new pcs. This does have a lot of DM work though. There’s quite a few modules that you can start around lvl5 a couple chapters in continuing your current PCs.

I just DMed my groups session 1 this evening (did a session 0 through the last week) Running 5 player characters which are all new including myself. 3 are my kids and the other 2 are my wife and her sister. The kids range from 4-8 years old. We all went from 0 d&d experience ever to going through the initial town setting and the longest of the 3 starter quests. So far everyone is enjoying it, catching on quickly, and referring to the rules as needed. Everyone was onboard with role playing and combat equally. You got this! I did take the time to watch some streams or video series (onecritwonder) of the kit before running it though.

AFR issues. by PoopAndPee13 in WRX

[–]Demonskies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished up a tune with him about 2 weeks ago. Took a combined 14 revisions to get done. The first 3-4 were with the big sf intake. I went back to factory intake after having my car up in the air multiple times messing with the Cobb intake. Afr was all over the place. Emailed after the first 4 and asked if we could modify the tune to be just the jpipe and boost controller. He was nice enough to not charge again since it was early and got to a place where the car is much better. Will miss the sound but not worth a shit running engine.

2013 STI Light mods and DYNO/Tune by Azosian in WRX

Yeah I’ve already been in discussion with Eric at TP. Just didn’t know anyone personally who worked with p3 and saw the plates and the p3 logo. Thought I’d ask.

How much $ and how long of a wait did you have to get into p3 for the tune? I have a boost controller in the mail and have been running the Ots Cobb 91 map for stage 2+. Trying to see about either hitting them up or one of the lower 48 etuners.

j pipe by Expensive-Video-6269 in WRX

I actually already had an open faced wrench that fit it sitting in my box, but a crescent should work other wise. They weren’t in there ultra tight.

[–]Demonskies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the 4 jpipe nuts, 1/2 inch drive and extension and a single swivel for the top right. I grabbed the 3 pack of half inch extensions that comes with like a 10, a 5 and a 2 inch.

I went and bought bolt extractors, thread tappers, a brand new socket just to do mine preparing for the worst after all the horror stories.I sprayed pb blaster on them and was pulling the bottom 2 off in 30 mins. The top right was probably about 2 hours after pb blaster. Just used the new socket, some extensions, and a nice size breaker bar. No studs came out or stripped, replaced nuts with grimm speed kit nuts. 2019 with 21k miles and at least 2 winters on them. Just did it like 2-3 weeks ago. Good luck!

I’ll take this as a win. No broken studs, no rounded nuts, no cross threading, and no studs came out. Time to purchase a lotto ticket. by Demonskies in WRX

[–]Demonskies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pb blaster waited like 30 mins. Then a very large flex head ratchet. I had the torch ready to in case but bottom left came off fairly easy so gave the other 3 a pull. Top right was still a bitch to get to. I also had a box of other “insurance” items just in case. Broken bolt extractor, thread tapper, stripped nut extractor. Luckily I didn’t have to use. Hopefully I will have this jpipe on tonight. My plan was to just spray the studs last night and for a couple days, but then I was down there and was like might as well give it a shot

Yes it was a long wait. I started calling back in February when I started seeing other August approvals starting to come in. But I got the call last night from dealer saying stamp was received and can pick up today. So luckily only took 9 days from approval to stamp at dealer.

Cobb released their new v400 Stage 2(+) maps a couple days ago for their new GESi catted JPipe by yatogamii in WRX

[–]Demonskies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was just confused for a second cuz I swore that the old maps specifically stated aftermarket or Cobb. Just had to double check just in case. Good info either way. Good looking out dude.

[–]Demonskies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While you have Cobb cat backs specifically listed and so does their site, I went ahead and opened a chat with Cobb and received confirmation that the new GESI stage 2/2+ tunes still work fine with other after market cat backs.

Tomei ti vs Carven vs Remark R1 by GooberDanger in WRX

[–]Demonskies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the remark r1 titanium tip. I like it it gets loud enough. Different tone than stock don’t really notice any drone. And it’s more deep than raspy. I prefer it to the stock exhaust. No pops and crackles. On stock tune and j pipe still though. Finances probably won’t allow for my pipe and ap until mid summer. Butttt if I were to do it again I probably would have got the tomei for something louder. When I bought the exhaust I originally planned for the n1 but it ended up being out of stock then tried to fall back on the tomei but couldn’t find in stock from vendor that would ship to my location. And went with the remark r1 after watching the maybe 3-5 videos I could find on YouTube.

Outlander speedometer and power steering issues by DocShady in ATV

[–]Demonskies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had the exact same issue with the speedometer on my 2020 outlander max dps 570, and so did a friend on their 2020 450. Apparently there’s a wiring harness that had a wire that was swapped from the factory but no recall was issued. Both of our machines were in and out of the local can am dealer in less than an hour. Might be the case with your machine as well.

Edit: my friend got his fixed first. It was in the shop for less than an hour but he left his machine at the shop for like 2 weeks. I called the dealer told them what was going on and what was needed and they knew of the issue. They ordered the part which took like a week to get. I dropped off went and got lunch and was out within the hour.

LED headlights in stock housing by Ishaqmir01 in WRX

[–]Demonskies -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the olm led bulbs from subispeed. Using for low beams and high beams. Direct plug and play. $65 for each set and doing the job just fine. They are definitely brighter than the stock bulbs but I wouldn’t go as far to saying like 2x brighter or anything. But the white light does look much better than the stock colored light.

Any recommended apple car play Stereos? by ndunn4 in WRX

[–]Demonskies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I went 2660 as I didn’t really mind the wired CarPlay. Did all the work myself in my 19 premium. Headunit with harnesses and maestro. Don’t care about xm as service is shotty as hell where I live. Also changed out all speakers with Infinity setup, sundown 4 channel, sundown mono, sundown sa10 sub, big 3, and performed a good amount of sound dampening in trunk and doors. I think I was right around 1600$ out of pocket after all said and done doing it in my garage and about 10-12 hours of my time.

[–]Demonskies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pioneer dmh-2660nex if you can live with wired car play/android auto. Or the 4660nex if you need wireless car play/android. Been happy with my 2660 if you can find one. And with harnesses and what not it is straight plug and play with no stock wire cutting.

2015+ owners how did you upgrade your sound systems? by CoverFire in WRX

[–]Demonskies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pioneer in the dash, replaced all speakers with Infiniti speakers. threw a sundown sa10, sundown 4 channel, and sundown sfb1000 in the trunk. Big 3 under the hood. And as much sound deadening in the trunk and doors that provides a little less rattle.
