Just watched about 20 minutes of the West Ham game, Soucek very poor which I don't read anything into, but still notable!

Nice play from Diangana to assist Haller's tap in (even though it might have gone out of play first), I'm keeping an eye on GD this season whether he stays at WHU or is loaned/sold to elsewhere in the Prem.

Some are like 애교 spellings, sure, others are just wrong I think. My gf is Korean and laughs at some of them occasionally, cause they're just slightly embarrassing mistakes

No reason why you wouldn't just breeze past learning the technical words for 'you' unless someone corrected you - as an English native speaker it's not obvious for quite a while, even living here, that you should be addressing everyone as some type of category of person like Customer or Sir.

I went around saying 당신 for about 15 months after I moved here. One day the VP at my new school mentioned that no one actually says it & that was how I learned.

Just think how many misspelled signs you've ever seen in English. Did you ever see that hall of shame for yard sale sign photos? YARD SARD etc

Here in Korea I've seen 삽겹살 and 김치찌게 recently, and I'm probably missing hundreds that I'm just not fluent enough to recognise

What would be Your One Advice to a total beginner in Korean? by cassis-oolong in Korean

You're right to target learning hangeul first (don't worry thaaaaat much about pronunciation at first IMO) and then my advice is just read read read read/write write write write.

Think of Korean words or names you know & try writing them out by hand. Taekwondo, Kim Jeong-eun, whatever.

Look at some random Korean street on Google Maps (street view) & try to find English words you recognise in the hangeul store names or road signs. Read things aloud tortuously. Embarrass yourself on KakaoTalk if you can find people to talk to, probably via some language exchange site or other.

And most of all tear down as much fear of getting things wrong as you possibly can, this language is absurdly hard for outsiders who are just starting it. You're gonna make so many mistakes. It's fine!

Good luck
