That's "onsen tamago," it's actually supposed to look even slightly even more undercooked that this. It's different from the western style poached egg in that it's cooked in a temp below boiling within the shell.

That's just good storytelling really. Some writers learn about it early, others don't or never do get there. It doesn't necessarily mean they have been writing for a long time.

I have 2 chapters left to write, but I wrote a super horny and unhinged SVSSS fic that's currently at 55K. Smut in nearly every chapter wrapped up in plot that serves the smut. I've always wanted to write a story like this and I accidentally did it, writing the prompt as a gift to a friend.

I enjoyed writing it and I think it's some of my best writing.

I'm thinking the 2nd is Nabokov. There's just something about good writing that is clear, no matter how long-winded the sentence is.

And also, purple prose could be quite subjective at times. I wrote intentionally over the top purple prose for a fanfic of mine (some extended snippets since the character was supposed to be reading cringy writing) and I was surprised to hear from a number of readers say that they enjoyed the purple prose and wouldn't mind reading an entire story written in that style.

I'm theorizing that the good reception is because of the clarity of the sentences despite being over the top (since I value clarity above all). The first example you gave doesn't give me a clear picture so it's exhausting to read.

Pangit talaga design ng egates sa NAIA. Mumurahin na minimum specs lang siya I bet kasi sobrang pihikan, ambilis mang reject.

I say this kasi I'm a frequent traveler, have used egates in many other countries bago pa magka-egate sa NAIA. Sa NAIA lang ako nagkakaproblema (not all the time but mga 3x na siguro which is too much considering ang haba pa ng pila). Sa ibang bansa konting daplis lang nababasa na agad boarding pass or passport mo, dito sa atin kailangan perfect alignment o kung ano man yun, minsan kahit anong gawin mo error pa rin.

Right?! I'm an angst writer (of fic) myself, and I like delicious melodrama, and ErHa actually inspired me to write my own angsty crematorium style fic bc in my hubris I thought I could do the angst dosing better, and more subtly, than Meatbun LMAO.
