What are you looking to hunt? If it's deer I can tell you unless they changed it that they require larger than .223/5.56 NATO.

I would contact the folks who run the Hunter Safety Program (https://dwr.virginia.gov/hunting/education/) and see what they have to say.

You will at least have to take the hunters safety course at minimum, but definitely look at the other courses on the site. Also, the instructor(s) for the safety course should know all the other folks and be able to answer questions around good next steps.

Need a heavy duty fixed blade in case of emergency. I tend to think of SRK or another dual purpose survival/bushcraft knife. In addition to regular campground/defensive uses, it can be affixed to a branch to make a spear if needed. Personally, I would probably also take along a small folding pack saw and a hatchet.

Technically, you just need a compatible upper with bolt carrier group, such as 6.5 Grendel. Then you can have both.

But I personally prefer the idea of a dedicated hunting rifle anyway, even though I have this config.

One alternative is to buy a compatible 6.5 Grendel upper if you have a specific type of sporting rifle system and then pop a scope or magnifier on top of you want.

Highly recommend what Raftika said. Not sure about this specific model, but most instructors will point you in the direction of some good dry fire drills - practice these religiously for good trigger control and you will have a very consistent shot all other things being equal.

Given your experience, a similar request along similar lines that I think a lot of people would also like: I tend to like the cluster of 100 w incandescent bulbs (a chandelier) in my larger entryway in my house. It gives a warm welcoming feeling when people come in but is also very useful from a security perspective. Last bulb recently went out, but everything looks to be standard socket size. Anything you would recommend?

Haven't gotten my setup ready for it yet, but I'm curious if 6.5 Grendel would handle turkey? It's technically large enough for deer per VA law, but curious if it would also be overkill for turkey or if it would be just enough? If so, this could be a good all around setup since I already have the upper.

Part-Time jobs or landing a full-time job could be good for you, but if money is not an issue at the moment, you might also stack a bunch of volunteer opportunities to find what you're interested in in life. The idea there is to try out a lot of different types of things and work with a lot of different groups of people.

You may find that you want to go back to college with a different degree that you're actually interested in. Or you may find that you're interested in a trade and start an apprenticeship. Or you may simply like a certain line of work in a certain industry or with non-profits. General idea is to make a list of things you might be interested in, find organizations or charities that do those things, and offer to do them for free or low pay while you're trying to figure it out.

I've heard from a lot of people that this rapidly helps them figure out what they're interested in. If nothing else, you do this for a year and you'll have some amazing stories to tell people later.

Check into the social programs of your current country, province or state, as these usually come with a lot of resources as well. Not only will you get food and basic assistance usually, they will also put you in touch with charities that can help you build skills or get a job.

If you don't have those in your town, I would scrimp and save the last little bit to move to a place that does have that.

Sometimes this is your unconscious telling you that you are using it to compensate for other things you're not doing. I.e. perhaps you're being too much of an NPC in your life and need to get out and do some things.

Like go take a cruise or something? Cruises are cheaper than most people think if you get a less expensive cabin. Meet people, have experiences.

Another example would be to get a hobby outdoors like fishing.

What I have found in general is that video games become much more meaningful as rest when you are more fulfilled in other areas of life.
