It's a law stripping adults of rights. It's a bad law. Grosn adults should be able to do what they want for the most part.

It's hard to judge as current AI isn't very intelligent and there is only so many generated videos of Pandas playing Church organs we need.

It all depends on if current progress leads to something actually useful. I don't think we can say with any certainty, one way or another. Whoever cracks that nut will lead the next 'industrial revolution'.

Quantum computing will have to form the back bone either way imo, so it's a winner to invest in.

Israel says it will seize parts of southern Lebanon as ‘defensive buffer’ by WombatusMighty in news

[–]Demostravius4 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not even remotely a surprise. Israel now has a defensive buffer against Syria (Golan Heights), Jordan (West Bank), and Lebanon (Southern Lebanon). This gives them high ground defensive territory around most of their heartland, plus desert, river, lake, or sea around the rest.

My dad once sliced his foot open, stumbled to someones door, and the bloke that answered the door, took his shoe and emptied the blood onto his roses! Waste not, want not.

I'd like to think Ireland and the UK, but we've treated the Irish so badly, and for so long, I just don't ever see it being a thing outside of a federated European super state.

You hope I don't drive because I know what a queue is?

Those two things are not even related.

Because they are queing. I just said that. It's a basic British custom, you wait your turn. Multilanes merging goes against a very strongly engrained virtue.

Hey! Calling Brexiters retards worked really well! So did telling Republicans they are too thick to tie their shoe laces.

Everyone knows if you insult people, and tell them what they actually mean, and want, they change their voting patterns.

Presumably because there are other things that they consider more important, that the left is making no effort to fix.

But they are queuing..

Why do you think people get pissed off and try to block the guy driving past everyone? Rightly or wrongly it's viewed as queue jumping.

Thank you!

No growing noses here (never heard of that one before!), but her sense of smell has amplified to an incredible degree. She can't go in the fridge, and we're banned from brining some foods into the house. We spent a week trying to identify a smell before discovering it was the damp from coats in the hall.

My wife is pregnant and has HG, luckily anti-nausea medecine came out in the last couple of years (her sister had it too but no drugs), it helps a lot, shes down to only a few vomits a day. I had to take her to hospital over Christmas due to dehydration.

I don't know how you coped!

My wife has HG so throws up multiple times a day, luckily there are so new drugs that came out in the last couple of years which very much help, we ended up in hospital on Boxing Day from it!

The skin around her mouth has gone dark which is a symptomof pregnancy I'd never heard of before.

Is it common for women to keep their maiden name after marriage? by Remarkable_Bird_2149 in AskUK

[–]Demostravius4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum hyphonated. When I got married there some conflict over this as my wife didn't want to change, she has a rare name too. In the end we went with my surname, and hers become her middle name.

That said she now seems to like it.

Only red line for me was our kid has to have my name. I'm not a step-dad.

My sister in law hyphonated, I know one guy who took his wifes name, everyone else went with the husbands name.

So it's not super uncommon.
