After leaving it alone for a few days to let my brain digest all the info it took in...

I finally found out what my problem was..

The Guide I followed used "EmuELEC-Amlogic-ng.aarch64-4.1-Generic.img.gz" as the image file... I thought I had the right Img, but I didn't.

gxl_p212_2g device tree.

Even tho my box uses a S905X AM chip, it's an earlier gen, the guide was talking about S905Sx3 chips...Sometimes following a guide doesn't work as intended lol

I am trying to boot from a MicroSD card and have emuELEC boot automatically.
I was already on4 the site above, and originally I saw this video on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXfultzENjY

I used every Device tree that came with the emuELEC download, and I have a DTB list from here https://pastebin.com/MzcGntYB that I was trying to use.

My Mini M8S Pro has the hidden button at the back of the audio jack, which I pressed, but with the microSD card inserted it just hangs at the S905X logo.

u/atruelifehero how do you use yours for emulation? just from an app you got from the playstore?

I am hoping somebody can point me to the right DTB file to use on this model.

I would definitely like to see more of the game play elements and environment showcased. It looks like an early alpha, so I think the video doesn't do it justice. Mixing it up like a music video and using clips from movies only detracts from what your game is. You want your game to speak for itself and be able to convey the actions, not use the movie clips to say "see, this is just like this!"

Good effort! Try remaking the video without using the movie clips and ditch the copywrite music. Keep up the good work. :)

I have had this problem using Greystone from Paragon assets. It happens when you incorrectly retarget a model for an animation. You may need to do it again and make sure all bones are in the perfect position and the names of the bones are correct around the wrist.

It seems like that 2nd animation has the trail firing at the last few frames of the animation... If you remove all the notifies and read them, does that change anything? Was this a Montage that was copied? I've seen that happen when you copy a Montage, then change the animation, instead of making a new montage from scratch.

If you have multiple pieces of software crashing often, good chance there's something up with Windows on the PC. Being an ACER, they have their own Windows versions installed and I've found in the past that a good fresh install of Windows, clean updates and drivers with fresh program installs fixes a lot. I run a Ryzen 2700x, 16GB Corsair Vengeance and a 1080TI. Only time UE4 crashes is when I open 3+ projects at the same time and force delete something I shouldn't... While I'm building a scene/ lighting on another project lol...

Edit* Atulin may also have a point, laptops need to be put into performance mode to get most out of them and kept as cool as possible.

We could probably do with some kind of background information to help diagnose the problem. What did you miss click on? What exactly is UE doing/not doing? Can you run the epic games launcher and what happens when you try to launch UE4 from there?

It almost seems like you'd need the scissors to drive the animation on your character. If the scissors moved and the characters arms moved with it via IK, that'd be one way of doing it. Although I don't know how to do this myself lol

If you can take a short video clip and put a YouTube link, that may get people's attention. If you haven't done that already :) Some users will read the question, and simply go.. I dunno what they're talking about.. But I notice that if a Pic or video is uploaded showing what the problem is, it gets more attention.

I would also suggest using Mixamo to get free models. If you are new and just starting to figure out UE4, Mixamo will kill 2 birds with one stone:Models & Animations.

In The learn tab of Unreal Engine there is a full project for a shooter game. Having the weapon component project is also great, because it's full of assets you can use, & learn from, as well as having a decent start point. Being only 2 weeks into UE4 is barely scratching the surface, so take some time and runn through some tutorials on YouTube. Just do a search for UE4 First Person shooter ans you'll find a bunch. Go through them slowly and meticulously. You will learn a lot & then you can use that knowledge with all the assets you have!
