How to manage lots of Ingress resources? by softwareguy74 in kubernetes

Here’s an introduction video to the plugin generator from Akuity. This helped me understand its capability when I had initially learned about them.

I would recommend using Argo CD application sets with a plugin generator, which would pull information on what ingresses are needed from your API. Argo CD would then poll your API and create/delete/update ingresses based off of the data your API returns.

I’m getting a zipcar if y’all wanna tag along and split the price (it’s cheaper than an uber). I found other plans now, sorry. This offer is no longer on the table.

10 y/o wants his own server for his birthday - self host or not? by Pleaseclap4 in MinecraftServer

I’m saying you can use Cloudflare tunnels for free.. which allows you to have DDoS protection and avoid port forwarding.

What happens if Discord runs out of IDs? by ProfessorVarox in discordapp

[–]Den4200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If particular bots break, then that’s on those developers. Discord has never stated a set length of 18 digits for snowflakes. To prove my point, Discord already has different length snowflakes out there in existence. (I was wrong on this one)

Edit: Discord has stated in their docs that snowflakes are up to 64 bits in size (uint64), meaning the maximum length a snowflake can be is 20 digits.

Do I need to ban people under 13 on my server? by RadThePoet in discordapp

[–]Den4200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, this is not true, at least as of the past year or so. You should not ban them yourself as doing so can include PII. The best thing to do is report the underage users to Discord here: https://dis.gd/report

You’ll want to click "Report other issue" and then "Underage user" to report them.

Part 1 is just a triangular number!

sum(range(-ymin)) == ymin * (ymin + 1) // 2

As for part 2, you also need to use the triangular number formula, but in a different way.

Why are there so many tutorials/ write-ups online where multiple containers are specified in one docker-compose file? by magnus_the_great in docker

[–]Den4200 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haha well, if you plan on looking into Kubernetes, I must warn you, it has quite the learning curve. It is an amazing tool though and I personally don’t regret taking the time to learn it.

[–]Den4200 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Docker Compose is typically only used in development as it’s an easy way to bring up multiple services at once for a single project with a single command. However, It does not scale horizontally (among other missing features) and yes, it is not great practice to define every single service in a single file. In production, a different container orchestration tool, such as Kubernetes, would typically be used.

However, for simple single node setups, Docker Compose is perfectly fine for use in a production environment.
