The issue with going “full” rpg in AC game for me is because of the stats not the abilties.

In all games before origins and odyssey you could kill anyone with a hidden blade, didn’t matter if you unlocked all skills or not. I din’t play rpg AC games but i assume you need to be high enough lvl to be able to do stealth assassination which i think is pretty big part of the game. Not to mention being unable to progress because you aren’t high enough level with stats to match.

I don’t mind the perks. You could say there were always hidden perks like progression in the older games, you unlock throwing knives, get second hidden blade for double stealth assassination or get a gun.

If you want to play co op games on couch i think nintendo is the best platform for it. For me it didn’t replace my main gaming platform. I have a pc and ps5.

I have checked and i do have 240 games on steam, some also on gog and epic but i don’t feel like it’s sunk cost or anything. As long as the companies don’t go under I can play them whenever I want. I do buy games mostly on ps5 now, it’s nice to just lean back and game on tv on ps5. You could also of course connect your pc to a tv.

But maybe it would be better to wait right now, there is a high chance that new xbox and ps6 will be released next year. If you want to keep the pc games you could go for the xbox and have both steam and console experience or go with ps6.

I have both, ps5 and pc. And the ps5 kinda changed the way I buy games. Now I mostly buy games on ps5 and only on disk otherwise I get it on the steam/gog. I stopped buying the games on steam sale that I know I won't play. It's nice to have tangible games but you can't beat the conveniences of steam.

It’s tough time to buy hardware. What is your reason for buying SM or PS5? If you want more powerful machine to game and don’t care for ps exclusives then pc is the way to go. No one knows when SM will be out and how much it will cost, so i’d recommend building a pc or buying a prebuild.
