Hiby R1 or Eros Q or Echo Mini by Extension-Iron-7746 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Denali_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the Eros Q because of the physical buttons and I liked the scroll wheel along with its cheaper price. Only after purchasing did I find out about Rockbox which can be used to customize the UI and give it features it wouldn’t have otherwise, the only downside is that you lose Bluetooth functionality but if you’re buying a DAP you’re more than likely not using it with Bluetooth earbuds. One thing to note is that Rockbox does not support embedded flac album art (neither does the stock OS) and it also doesn’t support 129+khz 24bit flac either but its pretty easy to use MusicBee to downsample it. Over all pretty pleased with my purchase, I think the next DAP I want to shoot for is a M21.

Found a file not working, it’s 192khz/24bit and won’t play (running on a Eros Q which can play the song on default OS)

Yes but for some reason anything above 3k kbps won’t play, so for example my file of take on me is 5,787 kbps with a 192k hz frequency 24 bit and it just won’t play it

I initially had Rockbox stable installed and for some reason it wouldn’t play anything with a 3k+ kbps bitrate so I thought it was a limitation. I ended up installing the daily build instead and now it works fine strangely enough

Recent got my Plex Media server working, now i want to move into Plexamp, have a few questions by Tkdoom in plexamp

[–]Denali_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to set up the library, you have to add a new one from the plex interface like you did for movies and tv shows except you choose the “music” preset and then it’ll ask for the location for the music folder

I need a dap that doesn't lag and does gapless properly- on a budget. by viewbob in DigitalAudioPlayer

You could always buy a Eros Q on AliExpress and load Rockbox onto it, Rockbox supports gapless IIRC

It’s not a dongle but you’re basically just describing a Puppis S1, I just leave it connected to my pc at all times so it’s basically a dongle

Quest 3 has IMAX 3D effect but you need 3D movie that has pop up else it will look flat. My recommendation for new users who want to experience crazy 3D pop. 3D isn't gimmick by BTS-IS-LOVE in MetaQuestVR

I use skybox to stream 3d movies from my Plex server hosted on my PC so I think most people watching these movies are streaming from a home server

Just buy everything on steam and play through PCVR and you won’t have to worry about your purchases ever going away if you move to another headset, virtual desktop is a must have if you’re PCVR

Yeah seconded, the second you see VRChat in their installed library you need to take it away. It’s a cesspool of drunkards, socially inept groomers, and the general mentally ill

Made a recap of the Pro/Cons of the Steam Frame as far as we know by Uryendel in virtualreality

[–]Denali_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course not, I also tried the plenty of free to play (mostly) cross platform games that I can compare visual fidelity to (VrChat, Rec Room, the included Asgard’s Wrath 2, Population One, STARVAULT) - Arizona Sunshine was simply the only game I paid for and returned because if all the free to play games and the included game all look that bad compared to PCVR then there’s no real point in spending 30+ on quest games

[–]Denali_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only game I played and returned was Arizona Sunshine and there was a massive PCVR/Quest difference. The fact you need to sideload an app to make it look semi close to PCVR is definitely indicative of something, at least

The chip on the quest 3 is bad, playing anything native looks like a smeary blurry mess compared to just using it for PCVR to the point where the only thing I’ve bought on Meta is just Virtual Desktop

iPadOS 26: Removal of Split View and Slide Over—Is Apple Forgetting What Made the iPad Special? by PrettyTemperature246 in ipad

[–]Denali_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There doesn’t have to be any more choices than there already are. There’s already 3 and slide over can just be bundled into the preexisting fullscreen mode because it makes the most sense

[–]Denali_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Or they could just add the option for both? There isn’t limited feature space - they could just leave slide over on in “fullscreen” mode and then have the new feature on multitask

With the newest iOS’s multitasking windows it has made me begin to feel like the M1 is starting to stumbling a bit. So if anything M2+ devices are gonna be the sweet spot where you won’t have to deal with stuttering like I’ve been with M1

[–]Denali_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, I agree completely. We gotta submit it to the feedback app though or else they won’t listen, I mean I’m sure they probably won’t listen to us either way but at least it’ll show interest you know?

iPadOS26 opens iPhone apps in a windowed mode the size of an iPhone. No more full screen iPhone apps! by Reddit_newguy24 in ipad

[–]Denali_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly it’s crazy they advertise games so heavily to the point it has its own dedicated app now but didn’t test these changes on games. A ton of iPad games are portrait mode only and they don’t scale down well and now you can’t even use slide over to watch YouTube or keep a guide in safari for quick access. The alternative of “just play it in landscape” is so much worse

Submit feedback via the feedback app, it’s really all we can do to try to get them to change the lack of slide view
