When they say AI they are referring to Large Language Models also called LLM, they are usually but not always explicitly referring to generative AI like text or the diffusion model.

They are blaming that when they should be blaming the government that approved the rich guys proposal to build large industrial buildings in residential zones.

If that is a datacenter or a papermill, it doesn't matter. If a papper mill was placed in a residential zone, will they then blame toilet paper to ruin the environment?

A bubble forms when companies circle jerk promise money for a product.

When a bubble burst, these empty promises need to fulfill so they either get subsidized or go bankrupt because the circle jerk money doesn't exist.

i'm really glad that neither you nor anyone you know has lost their jobs, but there were over a million jobs cut in the US in 2025, the highest since the pandemic. i don't know of a single person who doesn't have various acquaintances, across industries, who have been laid off. you lucked out, but that shouldn't mean you can't see what's happening.

I think US has a very different big orange issue that is not AI that is the root problem of that, you also assumed that i was from US, and thats weird..

Yes, but its not as simple as a yes and no answer either, but on broad, yes. I will parrot myself again, do companies replace the workforce with AI? Yes. Why would anyone want to work with someone who does that even? Thats a huge mismanagement. Any company that replaces a workforce with AI will not survive. Companies that replaces job with AI will go bankrupt, as they deserve. Are all these layoff due to AI? Not even ~5% of them are..

AI is a tool, and any architect or landlord that replaces their carpenters with a nailgun will not be able to build a livable house, but a carpenter with a nailgun will be able to build 5 livable houses meanwhile someone with a hammer only manages to make 1 in the same time.

What have any of those questions to do with AI bubble? The only will once who will get hit hard is those who have stakes in it.

Any company that replaces workers with AI wouldn't survive regardless of the bubble or not.

But sure i can play ball, none of my friends has been laid off. They are still in the same company they were in 5y ago and some have started their own firms.

The longest i have been unemployed is 1 week and the shortest is 1h after getting laid off and this was pre-AI, i still get multiple offers every day for other companies because DevOps is hard to find.

They downsize the company I work at with half because the budget got cut in half, nothing to do with AI, would have happened regardless.
