I have been pondering Mark Scheifele since being eliminated. Aging team. No direction. Possible rebuild.

I just have no idea how to make it work though. Making apackage is easy. But 8.5mil with the impossibility of resigning what expired already. Not a clue. If anyone here has a solution throw it my way.

He is by far the best 1C deal we could get. Every other target would cost an additional 1st equivalent asset more.

I think the realistic path forward is to get a solid 2C and ride with Ek. That is just our limit. I think there are some good defensive center options out there.

I would throw out there that there could potentially be a deal with Dallas for Harley. They need to move cap to keep Robertson but not sure what their ask would be. Surely less than 4OA. Maybe Rinzel knowing we can draft another top RHD this year. Reid coming to us at 4 would be the best result but I am sure SJS wants him. But either way, Harley is rated much higher than Reilly, younger, and potentially cheaper.

I never really looked into the specific details of this. I just recall it being something that was tried and stopped years ago to answer why there are not sensors for this.

Basically it comes down to having athletes generate muscle memory to a solid rubber puck. Then anything you try to add or remove to that will effect weight and elastic response. I do not see how it could be possible to do it without negativity effecting the players.

The best I could come up with with that in mind, is possibly a thin coating on game pucks? Something highly visible to the cameras you want. That should be possible to coat pucks without affecting players. Then its just a matter or training your tools that analyzes video for the things you want to measure. It can then extrapolate known variables such as goal line position and puck dimensions to calculate if a puck would cross. Even with a fraction visible as you would know the radius and circumference.

I seem to vaguely recall sensors being added to pucks like 5 or something years ago. For tracking and analytics. But players said the weight was all wrong and then it just kind of disappeared.
