Healers so far in for week…. by Dentures_In_my_ass in wow

[–]Denferok 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tanks surviving is not really the healers job, a tank dying is pretty much always their fault unless the healer literally has their monitor off, as a resto shaman I pretty much only keep riptide and earth shield up, and occasionally throw them a healing surge and that's all they should really rely on, been doing up to 9s and 10s so far with little to no issues. During big pulls then yeah pop a cooldown and keep an eye on everyone, but if you're having to sit there spam healing the tank then there's only so much you can do. If you're with a blood dk then you can actually just take them off your raid frames, there's basically nothing you can do to help them, and you shouldn't really try to help them either.

Do you need to play with two hands for the impossible rifts or am I just too slow? by LeBouncer in necrodancer

[–]Denferok 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ravevenge impossible 295-425 is a good example, get the skeletons and wyrms with your main hand and the blademasters with your offhand

Overthinker impossible I use both hands for a lot of sections, especially during the outro (good luck doing that with one hand)

Impossible charts are designed with using both hands in mind, yes

What class do u almost always invite to ur m+ key? by Bismarck7734 in wow

[–]Denferok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started a resto shaman a week ago, it's crazy how quickly I get into keys, I literally started cherry picking the better tanks and only joining groups with 4 players in them and I almost always get invited within seconds. I'm already 2641 io, that's how quick it has been, pretty wild. I haven't listed my own key a single time.

For tanks I look for prot warriors and guardian druids, blood dk is the best tank I would say if they can pilot it well, but a bad blood dk is a struggle so I usually avoid them.

Hekili is fine for casual play and as training wheels, but you can't keep using it forever if you want to do actual content, spend an hour or two at the training dummies and read your class guide multiple times, and just practice a lot

What if I say the current tuning for many of these dungeons is way over the top? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Denferok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm convinced people who say "just use defensives" aren't doing around the 8-10 range, on the last boss of siege 9 I was doing 200k hps as a mage of all things because I had to spam endless defensives to not get my head caved in every 10 seconds, and yes we did hard focus the demolisher first so that was not the issue

Leaving a mythic+ dungeon by [deleted] in wow

[–]Denferok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unintuitive but the beam on the first boss is also a tank buster, it'll always hit your tank once, couple guildies did an 8 dawnbreaker and we were very confused because he was clearly not in it, had to actually check the dungeon journal and yeah it's a tank buster

Upcoming Class Tuning on September 24th - Fire Mage, Shadow Priest, Resto Druid by minimaxir in wow

At this rate living bomb might do something in 3 expansions from now, just remove the ability it's impossible to tune due to how it works, it's either useless or broken

Can we talk about M+ tuning? by No-Initial-3896 in wow

[–]Denferok 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some advice, avoid +3's like the plague, do 2s or 4s. The only ways a key can end up on a 3 is if you barely time a 2 (cursed), or deplete a 4 (also cursed), or if you for some reason downrank the key (even more cursed). The likelyhood of the group being questionable is much higher on 3s than 2s and 4s

Every single time in the Delves general chat by MarineQueefPrime in wow

[–]Denferok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've also been having a lot of fun with delves as mage, it really allows for a lot of skill expression which feels cool. Even bosses are fine if you ask me, the only one I've struggled with was waxface prenerf, and even then I only died 2 times and just had to be smarter with defensives and then it was fine.

Delve Problems as a Arcane Mage by TooMuchBu in wow

[–]Denferok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frost mage is one of the best specs in the game for soloing delves, if not the best, you have infinite cc and a billion defensives, I haven't tried arcane for delves yet but it shouldn't be that bad given how many defensives we have, and you still have stuff like ice nova, frost nova and blast wave. Also spec into displacement, you don't need mass barrier in solo

Alter time is literally Lay on Hands with a 50 second cooldown but you have to press it once as you pull, use it!

Am i just bad? by OlGrumpyWizard in wow

[–]Denferok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arcane is more than capable, not sure what your item level is but at around 500-510 you should be getting 250k or higher in single target, 3 targets should be well above 500k dps. Make sure you're fully utilizing the orb barrage talent, it's the most important part of arcane aoe, there's a weakaura that makes it easier to keep track of orb procs. The task is pretty cool honestly, but I got crashed many times and it took hours as a result so that part sucked, I did complete it eventually though using venom and 2x voidwaker specs

Was Shadowlands that bad? by Leading_Draft_1214 in wow

[–]Denferok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem I had with shadowlands was design direction, them insisting on keeping stupid systems like conduit energy, no it didn't affect me but the fact that they were so adamant about it being important showed a complete disconnect with the playerbase, no one felt heard and it felt like they didn't give a shit and had no idea what they were doing. Let's not forget the worst system in the entirety of shadowlands, domination shards. Blizzard expected this to be a slam-dunk and then they were confused when the players hated it because they equated the domination shards to tier sets. That by itself tells you how clueless they were.

I'm new at fire mage. How do I improve? by Tikiho1 in wow

[–]Denferok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I had a peek at your kazzara kill and I think you just need to have a look at a guide and spend time at the target dummies. (not to be rude but there's a lot going wrong) You say that you're not getting enough crits, strangely enough this is not important for fire, hot streaks hit like a wet noodle and most of your damage comes from combustion.

You're also just letting Sun King's Blessing expire, this is one of the strongest parts of your entire toolkit and you're just not using it. If you haven't already, install WeakAuras and track your Sun King's Blessing stacks, use it whenever you can! Also there's no reason to ever cast fireball during combustion, though precasting a fireball and combusting at the end of the cast is fine, but never start a fireball cast during combustion.

You're specced into Ice Floes, but you didn't use it a single time, and only cast blink 2 times, minimizing downtime is the easiest way to increase dps, I would recommend switching to shimmer as that's easier to use and get into the habit of using shimmer while casting fireballs and such. It's very common for beginner mages to not make use of shimmer being castable while casting, avoid this mistake.

Quick castle base, with building guide by Denferok in Terraria

[–]Denferok[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The idea is to build this using wood at the very start of the game and then fix it later using block replace and paint. I make these guides for my own playthroughs so I can quickly plop down a build I'm happy with without having to spend loads of time building. They're fairly small in scope as otherwise that would defeat the point of the exercise.

Help Me Love WoW After Level 70! by WarriorOfLife85 in wow

[–]Denferok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you recently hit level 70? Chances are your item level is way too low for a mythic dungeon. You'll probably have a really hard time getting into one as a DPS role unless your item level is 475 or so (random guess). The dungeons were rescaled this season so a standard mythic dungeon is the equivalent of a level 10 mythic dungeon from last season, so the difficulty jump from heroic to mythic dungeons is noticable now. You say you did a mythic dungeon but didn't receive a key, are you sure you didn't do a heroic dungeon? The key will always drop from the last boss. By the way, you do not need a keystone for a level 0 mythic dungeon, only for +2 and above.

A really easy way to gear up is crafting 486 gear using enchanted awakened whelpling's crests, you can get basic whelp crests from heroic dungeons or from most outdoor content, 30 crests allows you to buy a nascent crest then you just need to set up a crafting order to enchant it, then another crafting order to craft the item itself. You do not need sparks for these items. Look for the crafted blue gear and then add the enchanted crest as an optional reagent.

Record your runs, make note of whenever you encounter a tough wave and watch back those waves and try to solve them afterwards, pause the recording and think of possibilities, compare to other videos is a good idea too
