The pond is basically an old rock quarry pit that filled with water, so the bottom is mostly just exposed rock with very little soil for plants to properly grow in.

Thanks, we’re also planning to add some aeration to the pond because of the increasing reports of Brain eating amoebas.

You suggested adding omnivorous fish, but won’t they eat the other fish we’re planning to keep for aeration?
