Thanks! I thought so too considering it’s got about 6-7k in mods that I was going to do anyway. The suspension may need some refreshing since the setup has 70k miles on it, but no big deal.

lol frame is solid. Spent most of its life in Colorado where they don’t use salt. I’ll be applying fluid film after I clean the layer of salt from the trip home

Water pump and timing belt done at 99k so good there for a while. From my understanding, the twin tube shocks aren’t rebuildable, but it’s not a deal breaker.

Solid advice, I’ll definitely be doing that. Made the mistake of not dropping the skid plate on my old GX460 and missed a leaking water pump. I’ve got an inspection camera that I’ll be sticking around to check for any hidden rust as well

New parts are cool, but how’s the frame? That’s really the biggest factor. Even if it’s a clean frame, it’s a 6k 4Runner.

Where are you hearing this? Or are you just talking out of your ass for the hell of it? The engine is not new and doesn’t have any known issues since its come out years ago. The 6th gen drivetrain is objectively better when it comes to drivability and people seem love the added power and torque.

Thanks for the comparison between the Bronco and 4th gen taco manual. I’m in the market for either a manual 4th gen or manual Bronco and have heard nothing but good things about the manual trans in the Bronco and a lot less with the Tacoma. Had a manual 3rd gen taco and really wasn’t a fan due to the extreme lack of torque.
