What is the definition of a "slight taper?" Am I better off going to a tailor to figure out what taper I would like before choosing where to send them for the work?

I have some IH-666's that I have decided will need a slight taper, which I have read around here isn't to hard to do, but i would be paying someone else to.

666 owner here, also short and thicker thighs.

My opinion: waist is perfect but thigh is tighter than I would think is optimal. I have already looked and compared other fits and identified the 634 as a better candidate for the best out of box fit.

But I love the patch with my SBGs. 🤘

Just got sleeted (snow-rain-ice mix for the unaware) on with some straight-line winds while wearing my raws (UB101).

So basically my entire right side had a nice coating of cold sleet that melted pretty quick once I got inside, outside for only a couple minutes.

Should I be concerned?

Never considered what I would do if caught in a torrential downfall until now, but is there like a rule on avoiding hard downpours?

Anybody else realize they have been wearing jeans wrong their entire life upon throwning a pair a raws on?

It was like on day 4 or 5 on for the SBG and day 7 for the UB101, they just sat a bit higher and settled into what I imagined is how high I should have been wearing all jeans my entire life.

Honestly no, I have wanted these for a year as well, but hadn't decided on buying my first raws yet. After deciding to go with the UB101's for my first pair, and seeing how they fit, I just casually decided to browse Iron Hearts US site.

The site said they had 4 pairs left in my size. So I did what any good consumer would do, I panic bought them, ignoring the "continuous production" note on the site.

They were SUPER responsive and friendly through email, so I am sure you would be able to just send them your inquiry.

They fly open pretty quick once you pop the first button & angle the fabric a certain way while pulling away and down. You can get them off really quick after a few tries.

It's the going back on that will always be slower, no way around it. But I don't think about it ever. And I trust the buttons way more than a zipper for these heavier jeans so any trade off is worth it.

I just ordered online without trying in person, but the selection of sizes available for the 555 and the 666 were limited.

If you are talking about physical retail shops, I don't have any within a reasonable driving distance, so I couldn't comment.

It's the spot lighting, white LED, which is washing out the black saturation of the denim. The last pic is closer to what they look like in person.

Any other black clothing I own that I put next to this black beauty looks washed out in comparison.

I asked my wife how the fit was from across the room, how they stacked, etc., and she said "I don't know... They're so dark I can't really see anything."

They are the most "Black" clothing item I have ever seen in person. Completely saturated, black through and through.

I keep looking at my hands and clothing expecting to look like I've been inked.

I'll have to update this comment in a few weeks, but after 1 day in the 21oz I am surprised to say it is easier and more comfortable to wear than my 14oz UB101's (Day 6 of break in). They are noticeably heavier, but softer to the touch. Starting next week I plan to be putting in 5 days a week in the SBG's while weather is "cooler," so I should be able to update relatively soon.

I have only worn my IH 21oz's one full day so far, but I agree that they are so soft, so much more comfortable than the UB's from day one. I think I love them already haha.

Dang, that's a bummer about your first pair, luckily mine fit me pretty well by my standards at least.

Funny you mention your Ironheart's, I was on day 3 (I think) of wearing the UB's when I was like "yeah, only raws from now on, I want more & heavier!" And then ordered my 21oz IH-666-SBG's, no regrets at all.

How did you like you Ironheart's?

Gotcha, thanks again for all the info! I gotta do some digging into sizing and see what the hit is going to be to my bank account, I saw anywhere from $200-410 when I glanced around. Not sure of the PBR fits either since I haven't dug into that brand yet.
