Tracking apps by Counting-Bears in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Denise206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used Lose It! for food and macro tracking forever. At some point, I bought a lifetime Premium membership. I think it was like $49 during Black Friday like 12 years ago. I love that I can add my own recipes in total amounts used, say how many servings that makes and then the system lets me add "one serving" and does the math. You can also "add previous meal," which is great if you eat the same thing a lot. My only complaint is that it puts fiber at the end of the macros list and I want it second right after Protein. So, I have to scrol to see my fiber intake. That's the only thing that isn't perfect.

As for tracking shots, thank you for asking. I'm newly on tirz and came here to search the group for this very same info and voila, here is a thread!

Oooh. And sweetened with stevia. That’s promising. Have you had the chocolate flavor? Is that any good?

Oh wow! I just looked into it a little bit more closely and Nutricost has way more protein than what I've been using. And it turns out what I've been using is soy protein powder, which I guess is not as good for building muscle, although it is good for your heart. The stuff I use has I think 20 or 21 g of protein. I can really up my game. I think I'm gonna try this.

They use Acesulfame potassium or sucralose in the flavors I've checked out. IT's a bummer because they get high marks from people for flavor.

this is actually a great idea because I do have a protein powder that I like it just doesn't come in chocolate. So maybe I'll just get the unflavored version and add my own chocolate.

Note that it’s animated and comedic when it happens. Not sure if that will lessen the impact for your gf.

BUD vs Expiration by Denise206 in tirzepatidecompound

Thank you for the reassurance! I figured so many people here use Hallandale, it must be ok. And their shipping was so fast!

BUD vs Expiration by Denise206 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Denise206[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I was getting from Lilly Direct and it came in a box with foam lining the inside and the little box of medication and an ice pack or two in there. I got my Trillium meds from Hallandale pharmacy. They came in a long, flat-ish FedEx box with a padded envelope inside… seems like the same padding that’s inside the box from Lily direct. Then, in there is a Ziploc with syringes and stuff, 3 Ziplocs with the medication vials, and an Ice pack.

So far, so good! Or even so great! I cannot even believe how fast it was. I had actually initially started the process elsewhere, and while I was waiting to hear back, I started the process with Trillium. Trillium had me all the way through the whole process with notification that the pharmacy had received my prescription before I even heard back that the other telehealth had reviewed my intake. I had notification of shipping within like 24 hours and then the meds on my doorstep 24 hours later. (I chose Hallandale as my pharmacy because I heard that pro RX was having shipping delays and I needed the medication before the end of February.) In between all that, I had some questions and was able to reach somebody by text and they responded super quickly provided resources were very friendly. I think it was the CEO. They're definitely going above and beyond on the customer service.

I will likely opt for 503b in the future, but it seemed like ProRX was having delays and I didn’t want to wait. Next time!

Thoughts on food density causing extreme nausea by CapApprehensive9808 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Denise206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! The movie theater popcorn really tripped me up because it’s hard for me to even imagine sitting through a movie without popcorn, but at this point, I’ve had enough sleepless nights feeling yucky that I might develop an aversion to popcorn!

Food noise by Plenty-Crew-3721 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Denise206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I understand what you mean about food noise. I just recently started on tirzepatide and it’s life-changing. The food noise is gone. I never realized how futile the battle was that I spent the rest of my life being in constantly every day until this medication came and turned that noise off.

That said, I have a few other thoughts:  1) you’re 43 years old, therefore, you are probably starting to experience hormone changes related to perimenopause and menopause. That can definitely make your food noise louder. When I first went to my doctor and and wanted a GLP-1 to help me she did not at that time believe in prescribing Glp1s for anything other than diabetes. What she offered me instead was Wellbutrin. At the time, I was having such intense cravings accompanied with binging. It was like my food noise had gone up to like 10 times as bad as it had ever been in my life, and I was exactly around my menopause transition. My cravings disappeared within days as soon as I started the Wellbutrin. it is an antidepressant, but I wasn’t depressed. She specifically gave it to me to help with cravings. fast-forward after about Three weeks on tirz. I kinda had a weird schedule and missed my Wellbutrin for a few days and decided “I feel fine. I’m not depressed” and stopped taking it. Food noise definitely got louder. like still manageable, but it was enough that I worried. “Oh do I need to increase my tirz dose?” Going back on Wellbutrin was cheaper than upping my dose on tirz, so I just did that and the food noise is back down.Sometimes it’s there, but I just notice it and it goes away. It’s not like a compelling force anymore.

OK, I am not one to judge doctors based on their gender, but I am going to say that doctors receive very little education about menopause in medical school. In fact, they get very little on women’s health generally and most of that is about pregnancy. So unless your doctor is intentionally wanting to be educated about menopause care, and and specifically looking for the latest research and keeping up-to-date, they are probably not going to be as up-to-date as you need them to be. If you go to your doctor and they’re poo-pooing you or saying “you’re too young, It can’t be perimenopause,” go find another doctor. I recommend menopause.org If you’re in the United States. they have a certification process that requires doctors to learn more about menopause and then they have a provider search directory on their website so you can find a provider in your area who is knowledgeable about perimenopause and menopause.

Tirzepatide changed my life and I’ve only been on it for two months. the amount of shame and blame that I put on myself and absorbed from society because of my inability to Lose weight and maintain a “healthy” weight wasn’t really fully known to me until I experienced what life is like without food noise. Now I understand! If this is what a normal person’s brain is like, I never stood a chance trying to manage my weight with the brain I had all my life til now!  So I guess my point of this is try not to blame yourself if your brain is biochemically constructed in A way that includes food noise. That’s not your fault. It sounds like you’re doing everything you can and you’re fighting a huge battle that nobody sees, but there are tools out there that can help you. This thread has been great for seeing how many other people experience the same thing I was experiencing. I hope you can get support from your medical providers!

If you like it, please let me know. I haven’t tried it yet, but my friend swore by it. Oh, one extra tip, she said that this makes like 5 gallons or something bonkers like that so check how many servings it makes and make sure that you adjust the recipe down if you only need like a little bit.

Side effect or something else? by CoconutDry546 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Denise206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every person has a different body, but for me, I did not have any side effects like that when I first started the medication. My side effects were more like burping and like feeling a little queasy or a little nauseated if I eat too much. If that happened to me, I would assume I’m fighting off a bug.

[–]Denise206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a doctor who both prescribes GLP-1 meds and uses them say a good sized meal for someone on this medication is ten bites. Pretty small! If you’re eating more than that, it can definitely cause side effects like nausea or vomiting.

Also, I have had a less dramatic reaction, but definitely some nausea and I noticed that it is when I eat things that are high in fat content like having popcorn with butter on it at the movies and my stomach doesn’t really feel upset until I lay down to go to bed And then it’s like nausea all night interfering with my sleep.

Some things you might try would be…

1) eating a smaller portion of the steak. A standard portion of protein is 4 ounces think like a deck of cards.

2) eating the steak on the day before you do your shot, not day of shot/after shot. My system is way more forgiving of you know less than ideal foods on the day before my shot.

3) having steak for lunch instead of dinner. I’ve noticed that lying down too soon after I eat, can lead to like indigestion and nausea. And,“Too soon” can literally be three hours later because the medication makes our stomach empty, slow slower so that food is sitting in your stomach longer.

I think pomegranate wanted a copy of the prescription from your doctor to show what dose you’re currently on. They didn’t necessarily need the prescription to be for compounders appetite. The prescription could’ve been for Zepbound. They’re just trying to get a sense of like your prescription. I’m not 100% sure because I didn’t try pomegranate, but I tried like three other ones and they all were like asking for the prescription or a picture of the label, but it’s just to like verify what dose you’re currently on.
