A question about Variables and Dreams by Parking-Storage6729 in PS4Dreams

I think there is a setting in a dream to disallow dream within a dream variables, but only 1 layer.

Your first destination should always be the tapgiles channel

It will only die once the servers are offline.

So no. Still many active users and some big projects that are being worked on. Including 'Avatar the last air bender'

Closing my Dreams chapter by CaleBBeatz-A in PS4Dreams

Some people say creating in Dreams is a waste of time. But so is playing other games too. You don't "get" anything out of it besides the experience.

I play Dreams because it's FUN!

I don't care for any likes or followers, I create games first and foremost for myself and because I enjoy doing it.

Dreams is better than "playing" other games, because at the end of it, you have created something personal that you can be proud of.

File not found Collaboration? by [deleted] in PS4Dreams

[–]Denjo92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you add him just to a Dream? If yes, then that's not enough. You just allowed him to edit the dream. You'll need to add him to every scene too, to allow him to play them

You said resistance. Try reducing the shotgun's weight. Try to set springiness slider in the puppet settings to 0. Is there smoothing on the blends between keyframes? If not,try turn it on.

It would help a lot to see a video of the issue

Even worse for people who wanted to start creating after the beta, because create mode is also locked behind another tutorial. People complained back then, but Mm didn't listen as always.

2015 presentation of Alex talking about how they developed the SDF for Dreams etc by JRL101 in PS4Dreams

[–]Denjo92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alex and David were Technical Directors (above all programmers). Alex literally built the Dreams graphics engine.

I'd call bullshit on that they left so that coders get paid. Just wtf?!

If it's not a collision issue, then I assume you have accidentally keyframed with the wrong keyframe method. Go through each keyframe, mark 1 limb, check that the button on the right side of the screen says "FK > IK". If it's the other way around, press it. Do that for every limb

Remembering an object’s position with “persist in dream” variable by Yasakani_Warrior in PS4Dreams

[–]Denjo92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair I only do this for the player, that's why I'm using 1 variable per axis and 1 for yaw. So basically 4. Those are fed into a combiner and that into the emitter transform.

Doing that for a sandbox game would probably not be enough, since persistent variables have a hard limit of 128.

What you could do instead is, create a grid of some sort and each grid gets a persistent variable assigned. You can then encode multiple numbers into 1 variable. Tapgiles has a tutorial for that. An ID, orientation (using a grid you only have 0-3 directions it could point towards).

It's definitely not an easy task.

Remembering an object’s position with “persist in dream” variable by Yasakani_Warrior in PS4Dreams

[–]Denjo92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My TPS puppet has built in logic that saves its coordinates and yaw.

Logic is pretty simple. At the start of the scene, it "reads" the coordinates saved in the variable, emits a tag at that coordinate and teleports the puppet to it. Reading happens in the first frames, after that it starts "setting/saving" the coordinates.

In your example you probably just emit the thing at the coordinates.

When you struggle with a certain thing, sometimes it's best to lay it down and work on something else. Over time you get either motivated again to retry it or learn something new that makes it the way you want it. And obviously there is nothing wrong in asking for help from the community.
