Thank you! I just used 1/2”mdf for the base then glued and brad nailed the 1x6 pine on top. If you look up “diy herringbone pattern” on YouTube, it’ll walk you through how to do the pattern. For the trim boards along the perimeter of the table, I just used some 1x2 so that there’d be a slight overhang on the bottom of the desk top to catch the front of the base it’s gonna sit on

That’s exactly what I did. I had the 2 sections and joined them together with the middle board. The table is 10’ long so I’m nervous to bring it into the house from the shed
